Pre-Patch not installing

I keep getting the same thing when I try to install it. First it says ‘initializing’ with the little spinning arrows, then it appears to start downloading at 0% before switching back to ‘intializing’. It repeats the process for several minutes before pausing the download, giving me an error and saying it didn’t work, so I have to start over again. It keeps giving me the error #BLZBNTBNA00000006 (11)

Could be a number of factors:

  • Connection is not stable enough to complete the download.
  • ISP has larger files throttled.
  • Bnet client needs permission to save in the directory.

Try using a VPN to download it, which will test the ISP theory and part of the connection theory.

If I can’t figure it out, will I still be able to download the patch when it comes out?

The Bnet client will continue to attempt an update, as it will be required to login after the maintenance later today.

So I don’t know if this is related, but I’ve been stuck at “Waiting on another update…” and I have nothing else installed on my computer except Diablo 3… which has no update.

On top of that, when I keep trying to make the client force start the update, it won’t do anything except… waiting on another update. Tried resetting computer. Resetting BNET. Going from Beta BNET to Normal BNET. Nothing is working.

My dad and I got in touch with Blizzard Tech Support. Their working theory was that my computer’s antivirus software was blocking the app from downloading the update. After uninstalling the antivirus software and deleting all temporary files for the game, we effectively had to reinstall WoW altogether. It’s still taking a while to install, but hopefully this fixes it for now.

Thanks for reporting back and confirming this
