Pre-patch ilevel catch up?

i don’t think I have seen anything on what ilevel we might get for toons during the pre-patch and any gear catch up.

I have my likely mains in a decent ilevel (for me) but I am curious about how best to get my secondary toons set up during the pre-patch period.

The PrePatch gear is 480, I believe.

The questing gear from the Isle of Dorne is around or below that. You can go into TWW without being geared at all and you’ll be completely fine. Being geared will only mean youre not changing your gear out until midway through leveling.

Apparently we’re getting a measly 480 ilevel.

Yep, you’ll get 480ilvl “with a chance to upgrade” during the prepatch event. You don’t need to bother upgrading it if you don’t want to, as 480 is more than enough to shred the first few levels of TWW content.

that’s better than 420 which 2 of my alts have.

Increase the difficulty of prepatch events, and then we could better gear for it
480 is probably more than generous for the Radiant Echoes questline.

Eh? I didn’t do anything in this game for end game content this season and I’m 500 ilevel.

Heroic dungeons drop 476. M0 drops 493. World events already give 480ish.

Prelaunch event is usually pretty good about being upgrades for all of my characters. Not just a few I haven’t played in two patches.

480 is great for starting out the new expansion with which if it stays the same is designed around 408ish ilevel.

Is the prepatch gear 480 static, or 480 on some upgradeable track?

That I don’t know. I assumed static, because usually end of season Grey’s out the ability to upgrade stuff. Not sure if prelaunch would drop currency to upgrade either.

I mean, don’t get me wrong, it’s not some make or break thing for me or huge deal. I just remember stuff being useful to all of my characters from prelaunch. I’ll still run it for mogs only.

It’s upgradeable 1/8 Veteran gear. Can go up to 502, which Wowhead says would last until roughly lvl 75.

Upgrading gear isn’t going away for PrePatch. The season ending is only the competitve aspect, meaning you can no longer work towards the 0.1% M+ Title or PvP Ranked rewards. Everything else will remain active until TWW launches, with all raids being awakened starting Tuesday.

Yeah it’s fine for leveling in the new zones. It also allows more room for upgrades as we level which always feels good.

I did the first zone on the beta and I was getting something like 430 gear from quests.

Honestly you can go in with barely any gear and you’ll be fine.
