Pre-patch Healbot bug & LUA errors galore!

Since pre-patch dropped, I’ve been having a strange & unique (maybe? seemingly?) issue where, when I attempt to cast a spell with my alt key (as in, press alt, then cast spell) it self-casts instead of properly casting on my intended target. This has been true for at least 4 healers in my roster (druid, priest, pally, shammy). It doesn’t matter what the spell is, if it’s cast via Alt, then it will always self cast instead of onto the intended target. I don’t have this issue with unmodified casts, or shift- or ctrl - casts. If I take the offending spell and make it shift-cast, no problem. same with ctrl-cast, and an unmodified cast. I’m absolutely flummoxed. This wasn’t an issue on Monday. Has anyone else been having the same issue? I’d welcome any constructive solutions or suggestions!

Separately, decursive has been regularly notifying me that I have >190 lua errors running as a result of my addons. I literally only run DBM, Healbot, decursive, and details - all of which have been updated for the pre-patch, and all of which I’ve downloaded and properly installed (the updated versions). As with my healbot issue above, would love to hear if anyone else have had similar issues & constructive ideas for a solution (other than “well just turn off your addons!” or anything along that vein - the idea is to still use the addons, because even the new UI lacks their capability), or if it’s just me.

I know there have been 2 downtimes for maintenance (emergency & “scheduled”) since the pre-patch dropped, so I suspect it’s something to do with the new UI & newfangled stuff they’ve pushed for the pre-patch, but I can’t confirm. Hopefully the addon authors are working on it? I don’t trust Blizzard to, lol. I expect their response to be: “but use the new UI! That’s what its there for!” …which wouldn’t be helpful. Thanks all!

It’s not up to Blizzard to make sure the addons work.

That’s super helpful, thank you! I’ll take your advice on board and give it some real thought.

Your best bet is to disable the mods throwing errors until the mod dev has a chance to get them updated for 10.0.
This prepatch has been worse than the past for mod incompatibility because of the UI upgrade, but it isn’t really a new issue.

Nice snark, but it’s the reality.

It’s up to the authors to fix those things.

It is. Because you don’t seem to understand what and addon really is and why it is not working.

Your insight is really invaluable. Thanks for being such a productive member of the hive mind!

Wait a second. It’s up to the addon authors to fix those things? I had no idea! I’m grateful for your perspective. Without it, I’d surely be lost. Thank you!

It’s a known bug on Beta, and wasn’t just effecting addons, but actual mouse over macros as well. Mouse overs seem to be working for the most part. In the mean time until the addon author can figure out what is going on you may have to use mouse over macros.
