Pre patch for TBC, earlier/longer this time?

When the TBC pre patch comes so that we get access to shamans/paladins, could we have this a bit longer so we can be leveling these classes?

I have some guesses and I think that the best time to drop the prepatch would be somewhere between the naxx event and the aq event as players do start to drop in aq as they wait for naxx. Maybe allow people to have more than 2week to level tbc races from 1-58.

I’d strongly prefer that it be considerably longer. Would love plenty of time to have a spacegoat shaman ready to hit the ground running when the Dark Portal opens. 4-6 weeks at minimum would be great.

Yes, I think 4-6 would be perfect.

Not likely since i bet they will add joyous journeys

That may actually keep fresh holding on longer than it would otherwise.

It would be nicer to have more time to use the new classes while classic is still going on.

I suspect pre-patch will launch at the end of the year in Dec, with TBC going live late Jan, early Feb, looking at the roadmap.

shew, thats not what I am hoping, this is a tbc waiting room.

Would love it to be sooner, but as the roadmap is pretty close to what we have seen so far, just kind of guessing about prematch though, and this would allow them to split the time in Naxx between non pre-patch, and pre-patch…

TBC prepatch does not have the new races :expressionless:

It did in the TBC classic the last time.

The primary purpose of the TBC per-patch is to allow people to level up their alliance shaman, and horde paladins, and yes in classic we got the new races. My guild actually quit raiding to ensure that people leveling shaman would have the time, and so they wouldn’t be bothered with having to run Naxx.

The two new starter zones are actually some of the best, sadly the new cities are both awful.

i know right, i remember wandering around the draenei city and thinking how godawful it was :expressionless:

I think it might be the worst city Blizzard has ever designed, Silvermoon actually isn’t that bad, fortunately Shattrah, is really nice outside of being tiny, but thats like all WOW capitals, and WOW itself.

Azuremyst and Bloodmyst Isles were practically perfect I think. Very well optimized to get a character from 1 to 20 and let them loose into the rest of Azeroth more than adequately equipped. Same could be said of the blood elf starting zones I’m sure. Been ages since I have leveled a blood elf though.

Definitely agree with their respective cities, Exodar at least. I prefer it to SW but it’s still wonky compared to IF I think. I always preferred IF because it’s a giant circle, difficult for someone like me with no sense of direction to get lost.

I don’t mind SW, the only one that I find a little annoying is Darnassus, and thats more because of how unfinished it is, you can really tell it was done fast, with little real thought, but the layout of it isn’t bad like Exodar.

If Darnassus has any advantage over SW it’s that it’s all one giant open area whereas SW is divided into more distinct sections so pathing from one point to another feels like it can take a bit more time depending. Definitely agree that Darnassus feels unfinished.

We both know we not allowed nice things.

I am hoping Blizzard will allow us more time since this is a TBC server in waiting.
