Pre Patch event questions

Hi all, started the Pre Patch event and after a few days I have a few questions :slight_smile:

  1. How often does the 493 cache come around ? I got it once and then never again

  2. How often to the quests for the 3k memory in each zone comes around ? is there a minimal level ? they are not showing up on my level 18, can they only be completed once per week per Warband ?

  3. It seems that from time to time memories by themselves do not give me experience. I show up and there is no progress bar for that specific memory despite the event going on. Is there an internal timer ?

  1. No clue. Pretty sure the event doesn’t give Caches (I’ve never gotten one) and you probably got it from another source at the same general time.

  2. Once per Zone, per day, per Account.

  3. You get drastically reduced rewards for completing events/bosses more than once per zone/per hour.

493 is once per week per character.

3k is once per day per zone per account.

I found that occasionally I’d have to leave an are and re-enter to get credit for a mini event. Want to look for the progress report on the right side of the screen where quests show up. This tended to happen on the first mini event after a big boss kill or the first event of the day for a character.

  3. The bar not showing up is a bug, I usually have to fly out of the event radius, then fly back in for it to show up

Once a week per character.

Once a day PER Warband (Bnet account), per zone, can be done on ANY character, you can even collect quest and do the objective on one character and hand it in on a different character.

Fly out of that specific area (takes a second or 2) and fly back in, it happens quite frequently to me, especially after an event just starts or right after a boss dies (LK, Onyxia etc), right after the bar hits 100% again.

Make sure your character is not in any Chromie time also.

Awesome, thanks all for the very useful answer. The repeatable quests you thought could have been once per character since the goal is to gear and level characters and the gear drops from the event itself is abysmal

As far as the experience one goes I only have problems with the king of the mountain one in Wrath. For whatever reason I almost never get XP for him.

Once per week per location.

Once per day per account.

Every hour on the hour, rotating locations each time.

  1. The first event main boss kill of the week on each character (reset on Tuesday).
  2. Each day per account (reset at 11:05 AM ET - I know it is weird to me on that reset time too).
  3. If you show up to an event and there is no progress bar or thing on the right saying kill x mini-boss, you will not get credit. You must fly out and come back (sometimes takes 3-4 times) until the yellow highlight shows on the mini-map, only then will you get credit.

Note: You must actually attack the main boss a few times to get credit for that.
