Hey Bliz, hit the rollback button and let us play. Regroup, put some more work into whatever it is you are doing. Roll back the boosts and market purchases and just let us have original TBC. You may be able to save face and actually gain subs just by doing it the right way. Just a thought. Or, you can keep pushing back the pre-patch until sometime this week when you figure out all those new changes went horribly wrong.
Oh, also I love the confidence in the TBC release date counter on how long until TBC. I would probably also remove that until you figure out how to do the pre-patch. Maybe replace it with a pre-patch counter instead…

I just talked to them, they said they didn’t, and don’t plan on reading your post lmao.

I’m all for extending the prepatch, but I have been on the beta servers… TBC is polished and ready to go.
imagine being so addicted to a game you can’t handle a few extra hours of downtime

Yes if only prepatch equaled tbc we would be in good shape.
You do realize you have come here and made yourself look foolish for absolutely free, right?
Imagine being such a door mat that you see nothing wrong with a company taking your money every month, and failing to deliver the product that was promised.

@Jedai Oh I’m actually not even worried about it to be honest. But I am a software engineer and when you have an audience as large as this its painfully embarrassing to keep the system down for hours on end. I couldn’t imagine what would happen if any of the big 4 went down for 12 hours.
Its fun to be cynical, but problems with a patch roll out rarely means they need more time to develop the content itself.
And you’ll still give them more lol, who is the door mat?
Imagine not understanding planning

Imagine having no hobbies outside of wow where a few hours of expected downtime gets you this heated
when people told me private servers did it better i didnt believe them
this is just pathetic and yes, a server in someones basement seems to work better than a multibillion dollar company

This is all anyone needs to read to know you never played a private server in your life lol.
This is actually the real issue, right here.
I’m the network admin at the local college (not that it means anything just as a point of reference) and our maxim is “under-promise, over-deliver”. Why? Not because we are inept or poor technically or deficient in planning…but because IT projects almost NEVER go off without a hitch. The building-in of multiple contingencies and managing expectations are absolutely vital in complex environments as Blizzard’s surely is; particularly when your customers are setting their expectations on what YOU YOURSELF are giving them.
I’d love to play right now but am quite comfortable waiting until it’s ready to go. It seems a bit misplaced to rage over a video game…but the real source of angst here is that Blizz keeps mis-managing customer expectations by incremental delay on delay. This happens every expac and patch it seems, and this one in particular is made more difficult because of the merging, cloning etc.
But they are the ones who know it best and who set the customer expectation.
That’s why people are upset IMHO, not really because the game isn’t ready but because Blizz seems a bit oblivious to the impact of over-promising and under-delivering.
Your mileage may vary.

okay… you are incorrect there, but my experience with blizzard servers is incredibly laggy with too many people around and customer support worse than pserver. weird how that can even be.
I agree Totally, Think about it. When TBC was originally released, it was released on a 32 bit operating system, we are now on a 64 bit operating system. It was also most likely released on Windows XP, how many people still run XP now? Windows has changed dramatically over the years as well as hardware. On the hardware note, who is still running Pre RTX Cards or more so, pre GTX cards by Nvidia (not sure on AMD equivalent)? just please understand, issues arise and coding needs done for new systems.
I myself was hoping to get on to at least make my new toons before work. It can wait, it will be there when I get home.
