I was wondering - if I got the Heroic edition now, would I be able to pay the difference and upgrade to the Epic edition at a later date, or would I have to wait and see if they decide to sell the upgrade additions later as a seperate purchase like they’ve done with the other digital deluxe editions?
Heroic addition should be renamed sucker addition after BFA

Hey you’re free to choose what you want to do, I’m just giving you a better option for throwing your money away to.
Just ignore them. One day they will grow up and figure out they should focus on their own finances and not those of complete strangers.

They haven’t said anything yet. Legion and BfA both have $20 upgrades for the deluxe edition so, IMO, Shadowlands will probably get added to the upgrade list eventually.
Quick recommendation OP, if your on the by month sub just get epic version, it’s only 5 bucks more.

The expansion should be free if you have a subscription!
I’d say wait a bit, I am, but only cause I have to catch up financially. That way you can get the epic edition 
and it does come with the free 30 days, so if you are like me paying month to month it helps a bit 
Haha, yeah one should definitely not make purchases outside their current means. I went ahead and preordered and told my SO that he doesn’t have to worry about thinking of a gift for my birthday in a few days. Win win.
