As I said to my friends: People complain about her being Garrosh 2.0, but the real play here is that she’s Illidan 2.0.
That said I stopped thinking she was an interesting character a while ago.

I think worst-case scenario for me would be they turn her into a bleeding heart a la Anduin and drop her back in the Horde to sing kumbaya with Baine and Calia.
After doing the Kyrian covenant campaign that unlocked this week, I’m 100% committed to hating Sylvanas. There’s no reveal the writers could pull to redeem her that wouldn’t be hackneyed as far as I’m concerned.

Seeing as the head writer waifus her and made Nathanos into his weird self-insert I wouldn’t be surprised if SL ends with Sylvanas and Nathanos getting married.

The only satisfying redemption arc would be Arthas and at the end of it he rekills Sylvanas.

I just can’t see how they do it. If you can get a free pass on everything she did, then there is never going to be an actually “bad guy” in this game because everyone can be forgiven no matter how heinous their actions where.

I can’t wait for Sylvie-chan to return to Azeroth after the timeskip, manipulate the Fifth War into being, and subsequently burn Nordrassil. As far as I’m concerned, the waning of the race of the night elves is a Tolkien-type certainty. It should be said that I’ve known since vanilla that WoW’s story sputters and chugs along on pure rule of cool and barely coherent absurdity, and that no canon is sacred. I like laughing at how
!@#$ing ridiculous and convoluted the story has gotten… and on that point, I think my favorite moment in Shadowlands so far is the Night Fae “play”.
