Hello, I keep seeing everyone talking about a 16gb pre-patch download but I’m not sure if I already downloaded it or not. Because I have no background download going and don’t recall one starting either. My WoW install folder is 72.2gb in size. Is that with this new patch? I have no idea. Is there some way I can check if I got it?

Howdy!

The pre-patch is around 16.4 GB in size and will download over time from now till the patch is released. You can check if the pre-patch data has started to download by either checking the client’s overall size default is 70GBs or checking your World of Warcraft/Data/Data modification date.

Overall, we mainly suggest to focus on making sure the Blizzard app is setup to install future content:

Goto the Blizzard icon at the top left -> Select: Settings -> Game Install/Update -> Check" Apply Latest Updates and Download future patch data. Set Network Bandwidth for Future Patch data to 0 for unlimited, or leave at 100KB/s.

Thank you for responding. I do have have the settings set to Apply Latest Updates and Download future patch. I’m just confused because I have not seen the background downloader start or finish. I’m concerned it may be not working properly for me. Also, what should I exactly look for in the data files? There’s so much in there, not sure.

Just look at the date :slight_smile:

The date of the Data folder? Mine says 12/5/18 and the files in it are 12/3/18, some older than that.

The progress bar for the background downloader does not update/work, but it is downloading…

Oh, okay awesome! I figured after awhile thinking about it, heh. Weird though I never missed the background downloader before, I always saw it working before. Oh well. Thanks!

I downloaded it and now the Game won’t start it just gets a black screen and a loading loop if i click i get prompted to end task, does it matter if i havent bought the pre reléase jet?
