So the early script of the upcoming live action adaptation of the PPG got leak and… im completely out of words, theres just NO WAY, this will not be an utter disaster, sure they are reworking it from the ground, it got scrapped, but just think, the fact that the script was THIS at any point of development, and they are keeping the same writers.
Everyone already had low expectations for this, but after the leaks, they got blow away by how horrendous and disrespectful it was to the source material.
They can try all they want but the early script clearly showed the caliber of the writing of these people, this project is just hopeless.
For anyone wondering how its confirmed to be real, CW has gone out of their way to Copyright Strike anyone talking about them, which pretty much confirms its real, and yeah people were dead serious about it being fake due to how awful it was.
I cant really say much about the script here cause i will get the vacation ticket if i do (yeah you know the kind of content it is already…) so ill just leave a video about it.
But seriously, the level of disrespect to the source material is unreal.

So Powerpuff Girls got Woke…How typical.
This was a new low in my opinion.
Like cant even be compare to the mess that Sequel Trilogy was, at least that tried to be Star Wars and hilariously failed, but this? not even attempting to be the PPG at all, they are downright disrespecting the source material and changing everything, even going as far as to say the actual cartoon exists in their universe and that Buttercup got whitewashed in it… like bruh.
and they killed off Mojo Jojo the most beloved villain for PPG. They keep doing this just virtual signaling, its going to flop and media going blame to white males.
If it even gets released in the first place, since they are starting from zero, but whats the point if you keep the same writers that wrote that horrendous script?
I still remember the success of Craig McCracken and Genndy Tartakovsky (which is why it was successful unlike the new version) made the only true Powerpuff Girls movie for this year.
It is obvious that we will know that the series will not give, worse with the controversy that Warner has when undoing what was the success of the DC in Snydercut version, and possibly thanks to Discovery and its union of this company that would finally make it known that Disney bought Warner for a disappointing future as it comes to comic-based movies.
Obviously this series along with the failure of Thundercats Roar will not take off.

If the leaked script is in any way accurate (and apparently it is) there is a lot more wrong with it than it being too campy and not as rooted in reality as it might have been.

I’ve read the leaks and I’m just disgusted and blown away by what they were attempting to do with the live action show. I’d go into detail about it here but I prefer not to be handed a forum ban by Blizzard lol. I’m personally glad it got canned and sent back to the drawing board.
On more exciting news though they are relaunching Legends of the Hidden Temple this fall but as an adult game show. I am so ready to see the return of Olmac!

This thing is just dead on arrival, cause those writers are not making anything good, the script is proof of that.
About the only good thing going on the CW at this moment is Legends of Tomorrow. Even the Flash is dead to me. I think the CW has stuck its head in the hole recently when it comes to writing quality and its a shame.

They did, and that’s part of the problem. But only one part.
It’s more than just that.
There’s nothing particularly “woke” about gratuitous sexual reference, constant reference to currently (or recently) relevant social media platforms or memes to the extent that the writers for Ready Player One (another bad adaptation, but not as bad as this one) would be embarrassed by, drug references worthy of Cheech & Chong, and cringe worthy (see I can use clichés, although not as badly as these fools) attempts to show that they’re “too cool” to have enjoyed the actual source material they’re supposedly trying to use as inspiration.
If you’re dismissive of the original fan base you shouldn’t have anything to do with any follow on or “re-boot” unless it’s explicitly intended to be, and admitted to be, a dismissive satire of both the original material and the fans of the original who are thus assumed to be idiots for having liked it.
It is the epitome of swing and miss.
I’ve seen nobody defending it from any political “side” and, obvious fools and trolls aside, don’t expect to.
Even in the current ridiculously divisive atmosphere I believe (at least among those who remember the original with some (any) happy memories) that this is something that anyone from the Q crazies and mesmerized Trumpers on one end to the brain dead Woke warriors and the crazy Antifa vandals on the other, should be able to abhor.
This is not a political thing; it is simply an artistic abomination.
Meh, CW has been woke for a while now, Batwoman is probably the best example of that.

And regarding the script, they actually had the nerve to say the CARTOON was real and that they whitewashed the characters, cause Buttercup is black in this stupid adaptation.
So talk about accusing the ORIGINAL source has racist when youre the one that race changed the characters, thats the level of stupidity those writers are.
