I’m not the first one to say this but I really think it’s worth mentioning again: the first tier sets for DF are following suit with the most recent ones from SL (homogenized on one single theme), and I would love to see less of that.
By this I mean, every class follows the same common theme- and the exact same colorway even- for each type and corresponding difficulty of content. Some of the sets look great, but there’s more than a few where I feel like it really doesn’t represent the class aesthetic or fantasy at all.
I don’t like that they’re continuing the stupid practice of “Mythic sets give better graphics” cause it’s like saying “Sorry, 99.9% of the playerbase, you aren’t as important as the 0.1% that need to feel special.”
I got excited you were going to talk about pally merciless/crystalforge tier sets
Its definitely lame that SL and DF have the same colouring for all difficulties, but i’d still rather that than no class sets and everyone looks the same (bfa, CN/SoD)
You can get the mythic tints through the creation catalyst upgrade system which I think is pretty generous considering mythic is the hardest raid difficulty and the players who complete it deserve to get a little flair on their armor pieces.
It’s ok I already have the best sets for mog in the game which are the Kul Tiras heritage and the Dark ranger armor.
My Kul Tiras hunter will always wear his heritage armor and my Dark ranger hunter blood elf will always wear Sylvanas armor so I don’t care much about the new sets aesthetics.
Although I really wish they create more realistic looking sets like the two I mentioned , I am not a fan of the huge shoulders and glowing armor pieces they love to make which look both too over the top and totally unpractical to wear.
Castle Nathria leather set was for me the best looking set of the last expansion, they should make more sets like that in the future
Oh for sure the effects would look cool on other sets but I really don’t think it’s a problem. Mythic is really hard, it makes sense that the sets for that have some distinction.
