Power of the Colossus

What a joke this quest is. The mob is literally a world boss. A group of 3 certainly could not do this unless it was a healer, dps, tank combo. Combined with the fact that you can’t even get a group in the Maw because of the phasing BS. So UNFUN. Who QA’d this zone??? It took me 5 seconds to realize this quest and the phasing nature of the Maw was a failure.

Leave the maw and return, while in a phased group. Worked for me, yeah dude has tons of healt, I got booted off the dang platform.

form your group in oribos or all need to leave maw then return…and watch out for his knockbacks lol, also tank him in the ringed area as he does a large aoe that the group needs to run away from

That is the dude who drop kicked me off the cliff into the abyss

Something to consider, is that each player can find armaments in the area of the quest. Each armament gives you unique abilities and substantially increases your power.

Soloed him as blood dk, took a while to kill him but he does no damage.

Big difference between him and the other 700k elites is that they actually do damage he doesnt.

I made my way towards that quest as an arms Warrior. A Demon Hunter tank headed in the same direction winding up at the same objective. The two of us killed that boss.

i almost solo’d him but someone that wanted credit ran up with other mobs and decided i should die with him.

Group content is hard? Say it ain’t so.

That being said, you can easily form a group for the quest in Venari’s Refuge (which is a sanctuary, so you’ll all be in the same phase) and go from there. Just don’t try to get to the mob first and then form your group.

And it drops NOTHING but the quest item after all the work it takes to down it, knocked me off the platform 2 times and ended up in a place where I couldn’t loot my first body, everything’s elite, group I was in was phased also so they couldn’t come with me. I see the posts where “if we form up on Oribos”, etc but who knew that? The reward is too small for the amount of effort it takes to get there AND the amount of time it takes to kill it. 51G is NOTHING.

I mostly solo’d this today with my pet tanking. Had rogue and pally come up and help me finish the last 10%. I didn’t think it was difficult.

Is this quest required to progress anything important? Wowhead doesn’t have it listed with any followups, but that doesn’t always mean there isn’t something.

It’s worth 700 Stygia which is the only way to upgrade your Conduits beyond 200, so it’s necessary for the expansion in that sense, yes.

Also this bug still exists and is still super annoying.

Me and a random Mistweaver I found were more then enough to kill it.

Random necro is random.

It’s a bug that is still annoying, bug reports aren’t necro IMO.

May 19th 2021 and the phasing STILL has not been fixed. Blizzard is a joke of a company.

Max level Maw phasing is not a bug so it will not be ‘fixed’, it is Working as Intended™

That said, on topic to the OP even though it has been necroed twice now, the buffs obtainable in that area mentioned by Kittredge are no joke, they are very strong damage (floating weapons) and survival (runes) buffs that dramatically increase ones damage or survivability, so making sure to use them makes a very large difference.

Nope. The last time I beat it, I duo it with a DPS warrior. My MM Hunter pet was tanking it the whole time. I think I could solo if I last more than 4 min.

I dont know why this is not fixed. I dont know either if someone has reported this yet. But you could still group by exiting the Maw first. Exit the Maw and then come back to Maw to get to the phase/layer of the group leader. This is how I do it but many who were invited to the group still has no clue on how to be of the same phase with the group leader.
