Its really odd when you find yourself hoping that your spec isnt the best option for PI… Like sure i want to do that extra damage, but if your spec is the best option you know that blizzard is going to nerf you hard. How odd is that. Classes get nerfed because they were just in a medium state and then PI hit them (in the face). As a priest main, PI needs to be removed. You obviously are balancing around it for other classes with no thought that Priests are not always around to give PI.

I think they should either remove it from Shadow (buff damage or base haste accordingly), or change it into a new timewarp/blood lust spell for priest class as a whole.

Shadow is in a spot right now where Blizzard is inviting numerous tuning problems on the design level - PI is a global tuning issue when any class benefits from it too much and that invisible damage also means that shadow’s personal cooldown can’t be satisfying on its own or it would be too good, Dark Ascension and Void Eruption are being put in a situation where one will always be better than the other, and Mind Spike must always be better than Mind Flay to justify that talent point cost and also has extra synergy with Mastermind (assuming Mastermind tuned to be competitive) due to Mind Melt.
Blizzard is inviting perpetual problems and community complaints by insisting on keeping these designs in shadow.
At least PI isn’t problematic for holy and discipline on a player level even if it does still present a global tuning problem.
Please don’t remove PI from priests. As a holy priest, I feel like it is one of the few things that makes my character special.
Don’t other classes buff people too? Like Pallys with their blessings? Evokers with their mana? Druids with innervate? I am sure there are others. It is ok to have things.

my priest is a alt atm so most of the time i just bring him to alt runs so when i use pi its pi roulette. ill throw it on anyone and everyone since its just for my laughs. back in s4 of shadowlands i was only giving it to the tanks just to mess with people. would be cool if they changed how pi worked like turning it into a mini lust

Howdy, pally blessings are mediocre at best. evokers mana no idea, but its not on the same level as PI. PI is probably the single strongest excluding hero. If it was just for priest they could tune around it, but as it is the whichever class is the default they nerf it without taking into account how they are doing without PI. Two examples are UDK and Warlock. UDK was the best PI target. They got nerfed hard. Warlock was then the default spec for PI. Guess who just got nerfed hard. So when they dont have PI they are just terrible now.
This has yet to be established as a pattern at all, and the times that warlock has gotten nerfed (supposedly due to PI) in sepulcher, they still remained top 3.
It honestly is a myth that players keep insisting is real off of like one tier that they got nerfed.
The truth is it sucks to get nerfed as the popular PI target because if you get nerfed to a point where you aren’t #1 PI target, you feel that much worse. But it doesn’t bear out in the data that the class ends up in an actually bad spot.
What class and when in middle of the pack was it nerfed because of PI ?
I will have to agree to disagree. I think that a lot of classes have cool stuff. Warrior rally cry, shaman healing totem, DK purple bubble of safety, pally crown bubble of safety, warlock SS, some classes have Brez, some have hero/aspect/etc. Evoker mana boost and innervate have both made it possible for me to have enough mana to heal through tough raid bosses.
All of these things, or a combo of them, can save a group/help them progress. Just because they don’t show up in a flashy way on a third party meter doesn’t mean they aren’t pretty darn cool.
Like I said, it is ok to have things.
demonology, aff, unholy. All three were the preferred PI target, and all three got nerfed fairly hard. Without PI they were all middle of the pack in M+
Can you tell the specific date that any of them was nerfed because of PI when their actual dps was middle of the pack ?

warlock was nerfed in one of the most recent patches. The only reason that it would make sense to nerf them was because they were the top 3 damage specs in vault. Demo did not get any buffs really, but jumped to the top when they started getting PI. All of the top entries on Vault for warlock they had 12 Pi’s cast onto them. They have been middle - low in M+ where there is significantly less PI available. Haste is extremely good for Demo. What Could have pushed them from middle to Top Teir when the main difference is Pi cast onto them. They just got a large nerf on AOE. The only thing that makes sense is PI was the reason for their nerf.
In the last week (so post-nerfs), they’re still top 3 damage specs in raid on average, and would be top 2 if it wasn’t for the Ret pally rework that put them at #1. And at even the 100 percentile are still top 3.
Your parses stop counting for any ranking or statistics in WCL if you have more than one priest PIing you. Meaning parses cap out at about 1 PI per 2 minutes.
And, you know, there’s several top demo logs that don’t have PI at all, so this is just factually incorrect, too.
They’re middle - low in M+ because their utility is less needed there now with pally bres. They’re one of the least mobile classes, there’s not much room for gate skips in the current dungeon set (which is VERY different from SLands) and the only utility they bring that nobody else has is healthstones. Meanwhile their AoE is only OK, and this is one of the more interrupt-heavy and CC heavy set of dungeons too which they lack.
If you’re taking a long CD interrupt right now you’re taking mage, balance druid or spriest.
None of it’s PI’s fault. It’s entirely that their raid performance (and ST damage in general) is just very good.
There’s too entitled people that message me “pi me please when I use x” as soon as I join the group. Even had some people be like “lol, why did you pi x instead of me?” when that person literally did 20% more dps than them.
At the end of the day I run omnicd and some classes synchronize perfectly on the 2 minute cd and others don’t so I have to take the best judgement in the moment who to use it on because I have to see who’s cds are available or were just used.

People can disagree with me about not using it properly Ect ect, But My Pi doesn’t have a Designated Target, it isn’t meant for anyone in particular It targets whoever it wants to target. You can ask me to give it to you Sure, Ill give it to you for that Particular Pull or Boss, but it’s not going to strictly be given to you. No one is better than the other so I’m rotating and sharing it with everyone in the group Unless they are one of the classes that don’t benefit from the haste buff. Heck sometimes I give it to the tank cause why not.

I play Shadow and I hate having to target whoever I decide to give it to. I just want to macro it with VE or DA. But no now I have to target someone with it or change a macro every single new m+ dungeon. Just make it group and raid wide like other lusts. It would still be weaker because of the reduced haste and duration but it would be better than how it is now. I just got my Spriest to 70 few days ago and getting into even low keys is 10x harder than on my Mage because of Time Warp.
The only time I really have a set in stone target it when I am in a group with another priest. I ask them who they are pi’ing and then set focus on the person they aren’t because I have a brain of a gnat sometimes lol. Other than that, I pick who looks like they are pressing CDs or the highest dps. I have put it on the tank for funsies when I see they are pushing big buttons too.
fair but its also fair others find stuff like that flavorful and fun. Blessing were one of the main reason I liked and played paladin when i did. I agree with that poster that things like blessing and PI are nice to have.
I’m lazy and just use a focus target macro for my PI. I have to remember to refocus my target in Ruby Life Pools whenever they ride the drake up and Azure Vaults whenever they use the flying book thing.
