I mean that’s some small potatoes, not being able to use saltwaters, engineering, etc. Are you telling me that your character is so different in a rated setting than unrated they don’t feel like the same game even?
I’d argue that crafting professions aren’t balanced, so why would gear / ilvl need to be? Or rather, you arguing for balance in ilvl (gear) but not crafting/consumes seems odd.
It just seems strange to me a lot of the justification for players to not do rated.
I guess if you -strictly- do wpvp or epic bgs some of the gripe can be accounted for, but that’s a player keeping a very narrow view of the game wanting to be catered to.
Clearly you haven’t been in one of the matches i’ve seen where people will take the glaives out for a stroll in the lake or the demos up to fight at the hangar.
Sometimes all you can do is stop and watch and wonder just WTF is going on in their heads.
thats a knockback/fear/mc, a knockback trap, a stun, a poly, 2 safe falls, a gap closer/escape, a brez, a dps choice in AoE or ST dps throughput increase, a choice on damage or heal, a combat escape, damage reduction, and a kitchen sink too.
eng and alch are the professions of choice for any theorycrafter because they let you fill gaps your toolkit. btw they are not disabled in Mythic world first races or M+ or any PVE content.
rated pvp is not raw pvp, its disabled professions to settle only one argument: who is better at class abilities only
i can throw you off a cliff and you will scream bloody murder that its not fair because dks are not supposed to have a knockback, rated disables my ability to throw you off a cliff, so off course you’d think its fair. my response is you have the ability to level engineering and alchemy as well, and the best part is once you have leveled them a lot of the tricks stay with you a while, im still using stuff from wrath. in fact the recent updates that dropped a lot of the items to only work for level 49 and below is easily one of teh biggest nerfs to eng/alch in years.
oddly enough, that really makes you wonder who is in control at blizz, because if unrated pvp doesn’t matter, then why do they keep nerfing my toolkit?

leveling eng and alch is not an ever moving target like gearing is. your knockback doesn’t stop working because my eng is a higher number.
this has been true about eng/alch since vanilla, your complaint is why profs have been nerfed into uselessness, and surprise, like my dk, those two prof just wont die.
sure, but imo, scaling everyone to teh same ilvl allows players to reach an actual end goal, you get your toon up to 60, you get your covenant and stats set right with your equipment, get your leggo and your conduits setup and then you go pvping.
imagine if that was all you needed.
Actually you are in a sense. That team with the fully geared toons, but no honor rank/cr, that’s the 2500 team in other accounts.

Why would I be lazy I just want to be able to smoke people in random stuff without NEEDING to do content that I simply don’t enjoy; I mean I could “probably” be good at it.

I feel pretty left out in this expansion, I’m not someone that really wants to raid and it’s difficult for me to find blocks of time to arena or rbg or whatever so I’m basically stuck at 197 and the occasional 200 conquest piece, and then I walk outside orgrimmar with my 28k hp and there’s rogues and hunters out there with 36k hp , I just cannot believe there’s people out there with 30% more health when i’m only 3 Ilvls away from the max honor gear and 6 ilvl away from the max conquest gear. Surely I’d still only have 30k with full conquest. Oh well, I guess thats the incentive for playing the game a lot more

That’s quite an irrelevant point.
Yeah it takes longer, but you.can screen who you get and generally everybody in there wants to play.
I’ve always wanted a gearing system that rewards me for what I want to do in the game. I like to pvp so I really hated BFA for forcing me into pve just to get gear.
If all you want to do is bg and not any rated content you can and you will be rewarded with 197 gear and you can even save the conquest to buy unrated gear at a 200 ilvl.
Everyone seems to have confused being a lazy player with being a unskilled player. That isn’t at all correlated. I’m a lazy player myself, but I’m not an unskilled player. I understand that puts me at a disadvantage when it comes to playing in an rpg. If I want to change my situation I have the means by which to do so.

Honestly that all just sounds like nonsense but I respect your opinion.
At least for me the game isn’t fun when I roll over folks by default-gear and well as long as I had a “shot” it’s fine.
Could care less about how I felt about getting gear over others or whatever it’s all about the thrill of battle

I was queueing 3’s as Triple DPS at 1300 last night and there were a lot of people with 35 to 40k HP. Wtf?
Unfortunately, nobody is going to Stream about this because they are getting great gear and melting other players.
