Power flickered, now I'm in a 2 hour queue

Why? My husband was able to log back in without trouble. I was put into a two hour queue.

I just want to play the game. Why is the only solution available to abandon the community I’ve been playing with for the past 2 years?

The server is full. When your trash is full do you cram more in or get a new trash bag? Blizzard is offering you a new trash bag for free… use it.

Why should I abandon the community I’ve been playing with for 2 years, just because Blizzard cannot allocate sufficient resources and/or properly limit server population before it gets to this point?

When I joined Faerlina I was warned the server was full and there may be queue times as I’m sure thousands of others were as well… yet those same idiots are now crying for blizzard to fix their stupid.

You don’t mash down your trash to get more in before changing out the bag?

Blizzard is standing there, holding a bigger trashcan, and saying “maybe you could go out of your way to use another one?” while they have the ability to increase the trashcan’s size.

There’s also the fact that Blizzard was standing back, watching all these people approach the trashcan with their trash, knowing that some of them wouldn’t be able to fit their trash in there, and uh… not only said nothing about it, but directed more people to the trashcan!

Not once the bag starts ripping…, bene and Faerlina are busted wide open

You get those force flex trash bags. I love those things.

I was never warned of such a thing and the server, when I joined, was not listed as full. I was offered a free transfer to Faerlina because I was on a dead realm.

On a serious note with what the OP said, I think if you get back in in time it lets you just reconnect.

But if your PC took a min or it took you a min to get booted back up, that window of time went away.

It sucks and hopefully they fix something with the que times.

That’s unfortunate for you. You are like one of those who gets crushed to death at an overcrowded concert even though you camped out for days to get good seats

Yeah, it’s supposed to, which is part of why I’m so mad right now. My husband and I were both logged into our laptops, so our machines didn’t lose power (hell, my desktop didn’t even turn off), we just lost our internet connection for a moment. My husband’s main account was able to hop right back in. My account and his second account? Booted into the queue.

The proper analogy is a concert. Imagine you a your friends buy tickets to a concert.

But when you show up you are told, “hey so the venue only fits 15k, but we sold 50k tickets. So now you have to wait 6 hours”

But we will give you tickets to a diff concert. Not the concert you want, not the concert your friends are at. Oh and btw, before that concert really even start rocking, dragon flight is gonna come out and that concert is gonna die and you can’t go back to the concert you wanted in the first place

It may be a network thing too.

Like, if their servers detect x y z connections are coming from 1 location, it may just allow one to reconnect.

Idk though.

Oh, precisely! So now I’m angry at the organizers of said concert for overselling it and not ensuring the safety of everyone inside.

Blizz, look at this!
Your servers are now being likened to trash bags. Do you really want that?
Even if you like those force flex bags (like omg who doesn’t) why can’t you at least respond to the questions about relief? There has to be something else you can do or you can explain in more detail the technical limitations if there are any.

Come on.

IP doesn’t limit connections to a server at 65k. This isn’t even an accurate understanding of TCP. Beyond that, population surveys are showing that Blizzard is capping the concurrent online populations for a given server at 15-16k so…

A single client cannot make more than ~65k simultaneous connections. The server can make more than ~65k simultaneous connections if it is connecting to more than one client.

Duh you’re right. Server is capped on a client basis not the whole thing. Going to delete my misleading posts. <3
However, they still are not able to do it due to hardware limitations… it’s a game server not an IM server.

I agree with you here. Once a server is full, character creation should cease but I’m sure blizzard has taken flack for restricting people from being able to join their friends in the past so they adopted the potential queue warning and allow people to join the full servers.

Just take the transfer, you won’t miss the old server after a week tops.
