Potion Cooldown

What is the cool down on potions? I thought i read somewhere that there wasn’t one, i could be mistaking. I cannot remember myself, seems like there was one.

2 minutes I think.

The difference between Classic and Retail, is that in Retail the timer doesn’t start until combat ends, so you can only chug one health pot per combat. In Classic, you can chug them on cooldown.

I distinctly remember having stacks of mana potions on my healers back in the day.

Yep, and we’ll need them again, chugging on cooldown.

Honestly i like consumables and buffs. One of the big draws for me of classic is having that stuff again

Generally everything is 2m, shared on same CD. In many fights, you’ll repop protection, since it’s a 1h buff. You can then use it again 2m later, or use something else. Since HP/mana are shared, it’s very smart to get major rejuv pots, which do a good amount of both. The problem is that this is a VERY RARE drop recipe. Like 1 will drop out of 1,000 MC runs. So you’ll have to hunt down the 1 guy on the realm that managed to get it.

Not everything uses the potion CD though. Healthstones, felwood plants, ungore crystals, etc, have a separate CD. So you can get a 2nd heal from one of these. If you want mana, dark runes also have a separate CD. Most mana using raiders will farm dark runes, because the health loss is quite irrelevant. (I was using them as a hunter)

Will also have to sometimes choose between wanding, or using a mana pot.

Its like 2 minutes. Unless you use a unique potion like an invisibility potion. Those might have a different cooldown.

2 minutes on potions, GCD on elixirs. Also remember fire/frost/nature/shadow protection potions last 1 hour. So pop it before the pull, wait for the CD and pop it again as needed during combat.
