Potential WoW 2 ideas

So im gonna break this down as readable as i can. And talk about a narrative that could take root ending WoW and azeroth and finding ourselves on another world entirely.

  1. Four Factions

All the races we have now are divided among 4 factions. And the idea in classic of class locking a faction would take place. I like this idea some what in format.

Aliiance - Paladin
Horde - Shaman
Faction 3 - Evoker(they would get dracthyr race)
Faction 4 - Monk(they would get panda race)

I also like the idea of adding possibly an opposite class lockout as well like 1 faction would not get DH. Since there are Void, Night, and Blood Elves and DH can only be an Elf. 1 faction would be locked out. I havnt worked out a list like above for this though. But a cool concept.

  1. More Immersive Auctions Houses

Next bring the black market AH back by allowing alliances between factions and having it effect trade. Players can vote each week to have an alliance or conflict the next week. They have all week to login and cast their vote. If your factions are allied this week then your AHs are linked. If you are in conflict that week then you are cut off from trade with that faction for the week. However, the black market AHs in Goblin cities are available to all factions at all times. Be wary on PvP servers though, there are no rules or guards in those cities. Goblins can be available to all factions making BMAHs available to guilds of all factions as a racial CD. This brings us to our next topic…

  1. PvP

We now have 4 factions made up of 5-6 races each. We have established that these factions can be in alliance or in conflict with each other week after week. This will allow for more immersive PvP. BGs consisting of allied factions random players vs conflicting factions. World PvP being influenced by these events. Maybe your server is at peace and all factions allied, and next week a few large guilds on Faction 4 want an Achievement for Conquering your factions major city, or maybe there will be a rotating weekly reward for surviving a conflict or initiating and taking a capitol city. Would be a lot of fun to flush out more ideas for this.

  1. PvE & Story

With the 4 factions and them being at risk of being at war with one another. This brings a fun way to roll out dungeons and raids. Even story items like quests can be blocked by your faction being at war this week or because these factions are at war this week and their goblin city at their border is Iron Domed up and not allowing anyone in for quests. This could make for a ton of lengthy quest content with high rewards for completion like legendaries at max lvl. Raid/dungeon content and world 1st is more a luck of the draw situation, with Raids/Dungeons being locked out due to faction alliances/conflicts sometimes. This would also influence alliances to be made some weeks and conflicts the next. This would slow rushed content grinders down.

  1. Community

I think this would make for a more engaging community. Guilds would be a thing again. And top guilds of this faction could sway the conflict or alliance next week. For guilds to down content they have to meet with guilds of opposing factions and work out an alliance next week to get access to a raid or dungeon. Then next week that same guild wants a conflict to get access to a another raid/dungeon thats only available that week in conflict. Or the next week your guild is trying to instigate a conflict between 2 other factions to open a raid in another zone. With 4 factions you can create so much content on launch that may not get accessed for years on a particular server depending on how the factions players vote each week. So guilds will want to recruit more to sway these votes. Inter and intrafaction guild meddling.

I could go on and on but i need to stop using these fingers and stop wasting my high. Classic fresh time

if you are playing retail WoW, then you are playing WOW 2…or even WOW 3 depending on how you look at the game. Blizzard won’t launch a competing MMORPG unless they see a major exodus of players and the current player count has been pretty steady as WoW remains the top 1 or 2 played MMORPGs year after year after year.

I mean restarting with classic fresh does show they arent remotely interested in the idea so i guess your right.

I want a new experience like classic where tue journey is just as important as the end game. And the end game cant just be rushed.

I would sign up for that, in fact I’ve played more classic than retail in the last few years because it is more of a journey and sense of accomplishment.

Current retail is WoW 11.

WoW 2 was released in 2007, 3 in 2008.

well, that’s one way of looking at it I guess

I’m one of those folks who interprets “WoW 2” as a remake/rebuild rather than a version number, expansion number, or a competing sequel.

If such a thing were to happen, the first thing that needs to be done is to rebuild the engine from the ground up; making the spaghetti code more streamlined or modular. That way, adding new things or changing stuff won’t break half the game, lol.

That rebuilt engine will have features that the current iteration of the engine cannot do (at least without sending a weed-wacker thru the code), such as:

  • Anatomy morphing
  • Customization going as deep as changing the iris, pupil, and sclera of the eyes
  • Free mouseover placement of tattoos anywhere on the body. Let’s go further and be able to custom-design your tattoos in character creation (I played one that did such)
  • Access to all 16.8mil colors with a RGB color wheel/chart/sliders
  • Armor layered over the character model vs “painted on”. This means being able to have skirts, over-the-waist shirts, jackets/coats, changeable undergarments, etc.
  • Changing the first bag slot

This is just off the top of my head.

I think they should learn from classic vs retail and potentially create two games from the get go. One focused on levelling and RPG elements, and one focused on competitive endgame.
