Potential tailoring problem

A question for fellow tailors: is anyone else running into problems crafting purple PvP cloaks? I’ve maxed out the three relevant wheels for cloaks, I have max level tailoring, I’ve got the +40 skill bonus from crafting equipment, and I’m still being asked to use 344 concentration when the posted order uses all gold mats. I can craft max PvE cloaks without concentration and don’t have this PvP crafting problem on other crafters like my JC.

Am I missing something?

Nope, the stats are a mess. I already posted about this. I can’t even make a damn HQ BOLT without putting 28 more skill points in.

PvP Cloak
Recipe Difficulty: 280
Epic Heraldry: +150
Total Difficulty: 430

Base skill: 100 skill
Tools: 40 skill
R2 Materials: 112 skill
Sin’dorei Finery: 35 skill
Outfit Essentials: 35 skill
Cloaks: 40 skill
Fiber Arts: 35 skill
Textile Utilization: 10 skill
Creative Efficiency: 10 skill
Fabric Specialist: 10 skill
Otherworldly Cloth: 5 skill
Eastern Kingdoms Cloth: 5 skill

Total Skill: 437

Lots of skill hiding in out of the way places they shouldn’t, but still possible to get there.

Possible, of course.

But you have to put a MINIMUM of points into other spots to get HQ drops, so your numbers don’t hold water.

You shouldn’t need to put over 60 KP to get 430 skill to make HQ bolts. Even if I took the 30 points out of Sunfire/Arconoweave, I STILL wouldn’t have the skill points to make HQ bolts.

Arcanoweave Bolt
Recipe Difficulty: 515

Base Skill: 100 skill
Tools: 40 skill
R2 mats: 206 skill
Nimble Needlework: 40 skill
Arcanoweaving: 35 skill
Arcanoweave Expertise: 25 skill
Fiber Arts: 35 skill
Textile Utilization: 10 skill
Creative Efficiency: 10 skill
Fabric Specialist: 10 skill
Otherworldly Cloth: 5 skill
Eastern Kingdoms Cloth: 5 skill

Total: 521 skill

Again, lots of points hiding in out of the places they shouldn’t, but still possible.

Possible? Sure. In a month.

I shouldn’t have to wait a month to make a BOLT.

Thank you for letting me know where the points are! Good to know where the problem is. Though now I feel bad for PvPers. There’s 0 way to get a max rank cloak for them right now without using concentration. Textile Utilization alone is 30 points for 10 skill. That’s just flat out bad design. :frowning:

You’re welcome.

It is bad design and I do not understand why Blizzard went back to it with feeling for Midnight Tailoring after correcting this same mistake from DF.

It’s a bit weird, but the quality of the crafted item doesn’t matter at all for PvP. R1, R5, still boosts to the same ilvl in PvP which is all that matters.

It’s only if you want the ilvl boost to use the item in PvE that the base quality matters.

Yes I agree with you completely though, it’s terrible design. It takes so much effort for Tailors to be able to make a single item at max quality without burning conc it’s insane. As far as I know they’re the only profession that has to deal with that.

I noticed this too. For some reason it takes MORE skill to make the pvp cloak and the courtly cloak than it does the actual SPARK cloaks.

I did notice that there are some skill points in other nodes in other skill tabs. but even with those point, it still would require conc.

I also noticed that crafting Rods in enchanting also requires conc even with r3 mats, +40 skill, and full skill nodes.

This is absurd, especially because for SOME reason, all these people want r5 pvp gear…..

Afaik they still haven’t fixed the pvp recipe difficulties. They did address the incorrect difficulties on the courtly gear items.
