Post Removed? Bot invasion

There are bots all over Anniversary Classic and right now they are taking over virtually everywhere. For every bot notification I get for a ban, there’s 3-4 more of them collecting herbs for hours, sometimes seemingly days at a time.

I am tired of farming alongside bot players that are farming the roads for 12 hrs+ a day while the legit players get to have the leftovers of the bots.

Right now, herbs are outrageously priced because many of the bots are ruling the Auction House Markets… Blizzard it is time to do better with your bot banning, the economy is already ruined 100%, but it will continue to get worse until you take action against these accounts.

Also, it is very telling that a post about botting gets removed within 3 minutes of the post. Seems like we have some bot sympathizers in the community forums moderation team.

Herbs are expensive because there is a limited supply which isn’t enough for the size of the server and the demand from nerd raiders who full consume for MC to save 5 min of play time in raid.

The community is causing the problem not bots. Bots make prices cheaper.

You are confused and have no clue what is going on because you don’t understand basic economics.

A fixed number of herbs spawn per hour, per layer. It’s a fixed supply.

The supply has reduced because less people are playing and there are less layers for most of the day until raid when everyone logs in.

IT’S BASIC MATH.

Forum ToS, duplicate thread section.
This is why your posts are being removed. Not because of some conspiracy or head cannon you may have.

Funny that other duplicate posts exists for days or even months.

Until they don’t

Which is what happens.

Yeah, only the time it takes is way different. Eg. some GDPR threads stays upp for days, and the HC complaints about DDoS attacks are stil there in zillioniplicate

I do wish the forum moderation was better about duplicate threads. Possibly a help to report whenever we see a duplicate, as those threads are usually just rage bait.

They did prune a bunch of these but yes. MoP forums dealing with it too.

I doubt that forum is active enough to warrant much moderation tbf. no shade to HC.

Yes bots are insane. I see so many hunters and locks killing in same circle every day all day while they farm lotus/plague spots

Flagged for removal

All of this is completely wrong btw… There are always 3 layers in Felwood, for the majority of the day.

Also for your economy point, which is also wrong, you think that if bots control most of the supply of herbs on the server, you think scarcity is causing the price to go up? It’s because bots control the market with a lot of things right now, most things, actually.

Correct. They need to quadruple the resources on each layer to even come close to providing enough materials

3 layers isn’t enough supply lil bro. Learn how basic math works. It’s not hard.

The first point - a fixed supply - is correct.

I’m not sure about the second point. On Dreamscythe there always seems to be three layers and all layers are still busy.

I do a herb run a few times a week. I don’t get a lot of herbs each run. In the popular spots at most times of the day there are always 5 or 6 others doing a similar path in the zones I farm.

The problem that affect the number of herbs I can gather are more competition from bots and players due to more players than when you had many servers. This is a problem not just for herb gathering but for popular gold farming spots.

Heading into TBC it would be good to amend the herb scarcity problem - the way it is makes it too easy for bots. The easy way to do this without changing the maps would be to increase the yield per spawn or decrease the respawn time so it was more equivalent to old server populations.

THERE IS A FIXED SUPPLY. The herbs spawn at set times after being picked.

3 Layers is not enough supply for the player count.

IT’S BASIC MATH.

The increased the supply of black lotus and it’s price instantly dropped.

The supply is the limiting factor. Bots post whatever they pick as soon as they have a full bag.

They aren’t hording herbs to drive up prices.

You guys are delusional people who can’t do basic math.

They should just put lotus on a 1 copper vendor, problem solved

Posts get removed due to flags. Any forum user can flag a post they think violates the forum code of conduct. If you can read I recommend going through the forum Code of Conduct.

Duplicate threads can absolutely fall under the spam category, but because flags are dependent on us users, your posts are more likely to get hidden/removed if you’re being argumentative/uncivil.

Personally I flag duplicates which add nothing new to the discussion.

I would flip it a bit and say that while yes, it is a supply/demand problem, the issue right now is demand.

It’s the start of a new phase which means more people are using consumes.

As someone who farmed like crazy for a few weeks because the cost of my consumes shot up, a number of herbs are tapering back down (though black lotus bounces quite a bit in my observation), with a few exceptions like Plaguebloom that are staying consistently high.

Flip to eels which are not technically an herb and not entirely bound to spawns, but where the majority of drops are nonetheless tied to pools, and the price of both eels and the armor pots made from eels are already off ~40% from phase launch.

It blows my mind how people don’t understand this.

People raid log so the layers during the week are 2-3. Everyone logs in Saturday night to raid and need 10-12 layers of consumes

They are removed because they are toxic spam and the comments always devolve into trash.

Tell that to OG ERA with people I’ve met who have bot farms for herbs to hold multiple bank alts full of black lotus. To then sell them for real money in bulk to guilds who raid naxx…

Wanna know one of the guilds who did this? Look at the OP’s guild.
