Well, actually, a Digimon series that started in 2020 is ending tomorrow, and october 3rd, a new Digimon series called “Digimon Ghost Game” is starting, so it’s alive and well!
And for a pandaren, what better than the hamburger digimon!

To clarify, Kizuna is just a movie, not a series, but I think it’s kind of the highest point of the franchise.
But yeah, it’s cool we have so much digimon. That’s not even counting the Videogames, TGCs, V-pets, Mangas, Manhwas and the Vital Bracelet. Which BTW has awesome live action shorts
But yeah, thanks to that we have digimon from all flavors and types one can think of. My favorite being the Olympos XII. Specially Dianamon and Mercurymon.
Digimon’s main downfall is its dependency on world ending disaster. it has great concepts and is on par with Pokemon, however Pokemon has a built in recyclable premise while still being able to capitalize on numerous world endangering events. the Pokemon world is also a bit more stable given the mostly fixed evolutionarily outcomes.
Digimon though, has the advantage of allowing the partners to adapt and change to a given situation and then return to “normal” which keeps them a manageable size for more interactive adventures that would otherwise be limited due to space restrictions.
Digimon Tamers had an interesting concept as it introduced the possibility of creating your very own Digimon, which added to the complexity of not knowing how that origin would affect/effect the evolutionary paths/ outcomes. also fighting as one with your Digimon Partner has a few advantages in more intense battles.
