Why not? They’re both non-Classic things. Amongst a plethora of “uneffective” aspect of the Game like Paid Change Character Appearance which is linked/falls under the same category/services as Paid Server Transfers, Paid Faction Change and Level 60 Boosts. But hey, you just want the Paid Change Character Appearance, right? That particular service comes with the rest of package/deal.
Barber Shop, you say? There’s an Achievement for getting your hair done, at the Barber Shop, so now we have Achievements and Paid Services. The Social dynamic will change to linking your “Ahead of the Curve” for Ragnaros or Onyxia.
We just changed the nature of Classic, now.
While we’re at it, throw in LFD and LFR.
EDIT: All this aside, why is nobody talking about hiding your helm? A feature already available in the Game? Why isn’t that the solution? Why is the Barber Shop the “better” solution than hiding your helm? If the point is all about the hair clipping through your helms, wouldn’t hiding your helm resolve this non-issue?
Once again i dont understand this comparison. Level boosts and paid faction changes affect the games faction balance, economy and so forth. But having a barber shop where you pay a few silver to change your hair does not negatively affect the vanilla experience. Comparing the barber shop to in game microtransactions doesn’t make sense
And your point on achievements. We can have the barber shop without achievements so i dont see yiur point
Its not being ignored, of course its a option what i dont understand is why you have a problem with people being able to change their hair? And how you can compare it with a level boost
But it doesn’t have to. Your making a small addition to the game a very unnecessary problem and making it more complicated then it has to be. Once again just let people change their look. NOTHING else has to change.
OK, if hiding the Helm is an option, then we don’t need the Barber Shop.
I just explained how it steam rolls. You’re talking about changing your character’s appearance. There’s a Paid Service for that. Paid Services are linked together: Server Transfers, Faction Change, Level Boosts. You can’t have one without the rest of them.
And one could make the argument and have about adding in Achievements because it “doesn’t take away from the game”, and all of these, together, pay attention now:
Paid Services, Barber Shop and Achievements, BOOM! Classic is no longer Classic. See how quickly it just got bigger?
Again, you can’t have one without the other, it’s ALL linked. ALL of it. “Small” changes lead into big things.
You can have one without the other. There not all linked. Just include the barber shop. You dont need paid services. That likes saying having paid transfers which has been confirmed by blizz that it will be a option eventually so now we have to have level boosts, faction changes, race changes, paid rename changes. SEE blizz is implementing one but not the other there actually doing the opposite of what your complaining about.
So once again there not all linked. If one thing is added doesn’t mean they have to add a bunch of different things.
Paid transfers were in Vanilla… They were the beginning of the micro transaction rot, but we can hardly argue against them. As for the rest, take it back to Retail.
Good to know, i actually didn’t know but im just trying to explain to this guy how haveing a barber shop doesn’t require achievements, faction changes or level boosts
I heard talk about maybe implementing Server Transfers (not a definite) which it turns out they still haven’t learned their lesson and neither has anyone else. This is exactly what I’m talking about, though. OK one change and more people ask for more changes. 'Cause now people will probably ask for the Paid Change Character Appearance making the Barber Shop useless. And since we now have Paid Server Transfers and Paid Change Character Appearance, why not just have the rest of Service Package? Give them an inch, they ask for a mile.
And, it is ALL linked. But that’s OK, I can be labeled “crazy”, for now. But once Classic ends up like Retail, again, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Classic wont end, private servers been runnjng for 10 years. And no there not linked people are gonna always want changes and new content doesn’t mean they have to give them everything. LETTING PEOPLE CHANGE THERE HAIR WILL NOT AFFECT CLASSIC
And like the other guy said
Paid transfers were in vanilla. They will not implement a ingame store, they would lose so much playerbase
They are linked and asking for this one change to be catered to 'cause Classic already has changes in it, steamrolls for more changes, that will end up in Classic. This is just a milestone needed to open that door.
But don’t take my word, for it. Just look at Retail or watch history repeat itself.
Everyone says that. “Use retail as a reference”
Start complaining when there is actually a in game store u can’t complain about things that even happening and will never happen
Using Retail as reference proves that it did happen. Otherwise, you wouldn’t be annoyed at people referencing Retail. Again, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Much like in real life, we must live with our bad decisions. I don’t see a justifiable reason for adding in a feature that never existed in Vanilla, ever.
Hide the helm, reroll with a new haircut, or suck it up and live with your choices. Everyone has had months of opportunity to research their character’s appearance options. People have had months of time playing to realize that their haircut wasn’t what they wanted, or they picked a weird face for their gnome, or that the hair color they chose doesn’t look the same in-game as they thought it would. Why would you wait until you’re level 60 to decide you don’t like your look? Why not reroll at level 3? Or 10? Or 20? Why would you get all the way to the end game and THEN decide you look weird?
A portion of players don’t seem to understand the correlation between the many, many QoL changes and the decline in community. And Community is why loads of people returned to Classic. Let go of the Retail features. You don’t need them. Classic doesn’t need them.
The barber options are great, for Retail. We are spoiled by it, and I understand how it can be hard to let go of your favorite features from the modern version of WoW. But I’ve lived through the steady morph of the game over time. When other people left Retail because they were unhappy with changes, with new features, with class tweaks, even with graphical updates, I stayed. When people jumped ship to go play on private servers because they didn’t like the Retail version of WoW, I was still here. The community dried up, server populations dwindled, and Blizzard started playing and endless game of plugging holes and patching problems created by the changes they made.
I know what the beginning of this road looks like and I do not want to walk it again.
