Post count resets... Why?

This annoys the heck out of me and I can’t figure out why it is even a thing… For as popular as this forum is, it is one of the worst designs ever. Why in the heck does my post count reset when I faction change or transfer servers? Welcome to my 3rd post out of thousands… /rolls eyes at Blizz…

I hate to be the one to tell you this, but… you are not your post count.

Post count squish.

Your numbers were too big for some people to be able to comprehend.

I know its really not that big a deal, just weird and annoying… Why even show post count if it means nothing?

It’s a weird forums system without a proper account in the usual sense, so all of your alts function like different accounts with different statistics. And when you do something like name changing it’s a whole new unrecognized account and your old one is done.

Unless you remake the character in question though, which will preserve the original statistics. I.e Example-Example, a forum character, was renamed to Example2-Example, Example-Example can be remade in that realm to preserve the original statistics.

If you make a character with your old name on your original server that character will have your old forum account too.

This one time, on the “old” forums, I had exactly 49,000 posts.

Then this mess happened. Then I also realized that nobody cared. Then I went on with my life.

Meh… I dunno I kinda disagree. Just for arguments sake, “usually” somebody with a higher post count “seems” less of a troll and has meaningful responses or forum dialogue… That’s just been my experience though ymmv…

My guess would be if some one had trust level 3 they lose it once they change factions, name or server. So that could be a reason they care :man_shrugging:.
