it’s about the horde, and events that transpired in BfA (i know, i know, awful expansion, we’re all trying to repress that it happened, etc, etc).
anyway, bwonsamdi, he’s tied directly to princess talanji, right? and is now the new top-dog of the loa. he’s also the loa of death, so the main way that the zandalari would worship him, is via killing, right? …which is unfortunate, considering the fact the horde and alliance have a truce, and are’nt murdering the crap out of eachother.
so… what’s gonna happen with that story? is bwonsamdi gonna get fed-up with the lack of souls being given to him and go crazy or something? are the zandalari gonna instigate a new war with the alliance in an attempt to appease him? i mean, the zandalari love their loa and worship them almost as much (if not more) than the scarlet crusade worship the light, so is this gonna become a problem for us in the future?
With death gods most of the time you just worship them by making sure death works as it should. Most hate stuff like necromancy. Altho Bwonsamdi doesn’t seem to mind temporarily using undead.
Not really. They’ll make offerings at his shrines but he doesn’t need massive blood sacrifices (he’s not Hakkar, after all). Mostly what Talanji (and the Zandalari) behind bound to him means is he’s held above the other loa and he’ll get their souls when they die.
They don’t worship the light. They hate everyone else. Their conviction of that allows them to use the light because of their faith in their hate. Just wanted to clear that up.
After BfA ? Who knows ? Maybe they are just misunderstood nice people who we are told are bad people and they just want to find their place in Azeroth and be loved by someone.
Again, post lore, anything goes. Precedents to anything and everything were made.
No that what I said did not happened after BfA to “someone” which implies it can happen to “anyone”.
But I admit I had fun with the Murlock dominated timeline and the end of Dgrlll Wingrllll.
Tell that to Night elves, forsaken, humans, other elves, Tauren, etc.
What I said is not that they “changed”, what I said is that no one knows what is “canon” anymore because anything and anyone is fair game for retconning.
So if tomorrow they decide the Scarlet Cruzade is the true light worshippers and Turalyon is part of a “masterplan” to dominate Stormwind, they sure have opened that door.
I suppose that is true to an extent, but their conviction in their hate is what allows them to use the light. So I feel their worship isn’t in the light necessarily, but that they believe the light blesses them for righteousness except its for the conviction in their hatred.
I think the Lightforged are as close to ‘true light worshippers’ as you get as some of them attempted to force others to become Lightforged in the name of defeating the void.
Turalyon and Alleria have a weird dynamic since both are infused with polar opposites. I am curious if they will ever do anything with Arator. Lots of potential on both parts there, but we just have to see what they do with it.
With some digging you find a lot of things. Even changes to fundamentals to Scarlet Crusade. They actual origin was retconned since it was firstly mentioned before WoW.
Also, there was sensible changes to who was part of it and doing what.
Most recently, it was also “prepared for retconning”.
I actually liked most of BFA so I’m in the minority. Only thing I can think of that I did not like from BFA is the non-faction war and Baine being such a main part. Not a Baine fan at all and I wanted the old hatred faction war to start up even if it only lasted that expansion. Now, I do not give a f@#* about factions. BFA ruined them for me.
Now Shadowlands is something I try to forget cause it was not good imo. I think I played first month and that was it and possibly last month just to prepare for DF.
There is plenty of death happening and he is more concerned with making sure that dead souls are making it to him and not being otherwise interfered with via something like necromancy.
I doubt we’ll see much more of him in the future too. His arc seems to be pretty much played out. For him to be involved in new lore/content, we’re going to have to reopen the afterlife and/or the veil. Dude is just gonna chill and torture Muezhalla and enjoy whatever perks souls give him.
Currently, they are generally known to be conspiracy theories. Now if Blizz turns around and makes them out to be true/canon is another matter. But Calia had a daughter, not a son.
Anduin didn’t kill Calia, Sylvanas did. Those are conspiracies meant to spur favor for the Scarlet Crusade in the same way a certain political organization does these days.
considering we’re talking world of warcraft here, where a dragon who’s lived for hundreds (thousands? not sure) of years said he could’nt remember a time when people died of old age, i don’t think i went too far assuming most of the deaths dedicated to bwonsamdi would be from killings.
actually, that raises a less important non-bfa-lore question for me… time for me to look up how old kalecgos is!
edit: huh. he’s a couple thousand years old. really robbin the cradle when he was dating jaina there, huh…
