We know possums exist on Azeroth because there are references to them in WoW.

Not an allied race? There were Fox pets and then all of a sudden we get Fox people.
It’s devastating to me that minions crawl up on your shoulder in FF14 and they still can’t do it in WoW.

Yes, here’s a great example of an Opossum person.
That’s one disgusting pack of rats there…what’s up with the last one with two heads though? The poor cute disgusting two headed rat-possum.
The mother rat got a looks like she sees a truck coming at her in the early morning / twilight hours.
Theres a reference to every pop culture thing imaginable. Doesnt mean its in game.
My vote would be for an Australian possum, like the brushtail. Then if they put it in the store it could be a charity thing for the RSPCA or something.

I love opossums, I have a few at my house, they wait for the raccoons to come and steal cat food, like it’s some green light for them to do the same, which they do, cracks me up.
I also think we should have gold collecting ferrets, like Diablo, but I won’t say what class though 
I want a mount that carries multiple people like a mom possom does their babies

There is not one possum on Azeroth.
There are probably many possums on Azeroth. It’s just that Blizzard can’t make millions and millions of different models for every possible species.
They can’t even make models for two genders of the same species in most cases.
