Fingers crossed it will be fixed with the Pre-patch…not much confidence it will be though!
This doesn’t appear to be fixed in pre-patch.
Nope, it’s not. VERY frustrating.
Not only can I not see applicants and applicant history, now I can’t even update my listing in the guild finder.
Wanted to chime in on this bug too.
I’ve previously logged this 2-3 months ago (Ticket Number: US74350156)
We kinda left it till pre-patch in the hopes it would be fixed.
It still isn’t fix, and frankly, it is fustrating because we’re missing out on potential guild applicants since players are now returning.
To reiterate, we’re experiencing the following combination of guild finder/applicant list related bugs.
- Pending applicants that are declined are still appearing in the list of candidates
- An approved applicant will not display a “pending” status.
- Declined/invited applicant still appears in the applicant list - despite the message in chat saying they have been invited/declined multiple times.
- Duplicate guild recruitment posts are visible for the same guild from the guild finder page in-game.
Guild: Dalaran University on Caelestrasz
Can we please…PLEASE… get a response for when this will be fixed.
Is Caelestrasz the bigger server, which other servers were merged into, by any chance?
I’m wondering if that’s what’s causing the nearly opposite problems - guilds on the smaller server never get to see their applicants now that the listing bug itself is resolved (and are therefore dying even faster than they were on their original servers!), while the guilds on the bigger server are getting duplicate listings and can accept/reject their applicants(?), but never have them leave the applicant list.
My observations are all from Dreadmaul, merged into the larger Frostmourne.
Of course, if Caelestrasz was the smaller server then I’m all out of ideas for what’s causing it.
I’ve just been raising weekly tickets for the last few weeks in any case.
No idea on server size compared to the merge sorry.
Sounds plausible though.
Caelestrasz + Nagrand merged with Saurfang recently. So feel free to fill your boots and dig deeper.
But we’ve had the problems pre realm merge. (and it seems others here have too)
Not a database or game developer…but i feel like the guild finder system just needs a purge and a reset.
I hate to lose the applicants on the list, but if i can’t get to them, what’s the point?
All good - it was pretty obvious in our case, as I think we were the smallest Oce server being merged with the largest! And every single guild listed for weeks was Frostmourne - the others wouldn’t stay posted.
I was hoping if it’s a case of opposites based on dominant-subordinate realms on merge it might highlight a potential fix for someone who knows what they’re doing. But maybe, maybe not
Either way - I definitely hope it’s picked up soon. It feels worse being a guild officer now, because all the people who’d otherwise apply to my guild are going into different guilds that can actually process their request.
My guild on Sisters of Elune is having the same issues as everyone else here. Can’t see applicants on the guild roster page as the option is grayed out.
So my guild has been affected by this bug for about two months now. Before it seemed like it would take 2-3 days before the guild listing would go down, but today it looks like it dropped off the guildfinder after a single day.
Still can’t see applications. I understand that the wow team has enough on its plate with prepatch and everything but it’s demoralizing knowing that my major rp guild and almost every other long established rp guild on my server is stuck with this bug indefinitely.
You have access to the pending applicant list? You’re way ahead of me!
My guild interface lists NO ONE in guild applicants - and I had at least 20 people in there that were pending/accepted when this started.
Well, I was able to use the guild finder again and update my guild listing. However, since the applicants and applicant history are still greyed out, I’m not sure what good it does me.
While I know Blizz has a lot going on, is it really impossible for someone to come here and acknowledge the problem? Can’t they just pop in and say, “Hey, guys. Sorry it’s taking so long, but we’re working on it!”? At least I wouldn’t feel like I’m being completely ignored.
Reply to my ticket today.

My reply
Thanks for the reply.
Just to re-iterate.
This has been a bug since before the shadowlands pre-patch.Please leave this ticket open until i’m satisfied it is fixed.
Also, may i recommend in the mean time, that someone provide an update to the bug tracker support page for this bug.
Possibly Solved TY BLIZZ! Guild finder not working and New realm can't accept invitesMay other guilds like mine are experiencing the same issues with no communication or ETA for a fix.
This really isn’t acceptable for a number of reasons:
- Blizzard has been aware of the issues since 3 months before the shadowlands pre-patch.
- All these guilds are now missing out on potential members with the influx of players returning.
- New players looking for guilds may think they are being ignored when their invites aren’t being answered.
Looking forward to an update.
Thanks again.
Come on blizzard. Give us an update.
And to make my point - pointy - They have known about this for 3 months now.
Here is a reply to the same ticket 3 months ago
Greetings, Ammuka!
I’m Technical Specialist Eristath. Thank you for contacting us. I’m very sorry for the previous mishap. Looking over the issue, it does seem like this is a known issue with some of the features in-game. I know this issue has been ongoing for a few days, but we’re already working on a resolution, so for now, do the recruitment via chat and change the message to have anyone interested mail you instead of going through the feature. This will avoid a lot of declined requests.
As we almost caused you to lose a mythic key and due to the inconvenience with this issue, I have provided you with a pet to accompany you in your adventures. I know this does not solve the issue, but I hope this brings you joy.
I hope this solves your problem. If so, mark the ticket as Resolved. Thanks again for contacting us.
Regards ^o^/
yes…they reset my password trying to “fix” it mid M+ key
They did give me a pet though…
…still want this bug addressed properly
Has anyone tried transferring the guild to one of the connected realms? Not sure if that is possible or if all the old members will have to re-join or not since it would still be on the same cluster.
Hmmm, that is an interesting suggestion, certainly worth trying (though not paying for, being it is in response to a blizz bug), just to have another data point for their bug investigations. There would be a number of potential issues to overcome. A transfer really creates a new guild while leaving a shell of the old guild behind. Do all the guild achievements and history get transferred? Can toons transfer to the new guild and keep all their rep and history without paying a fee?
As of today still no luck with this. As i am mainly my own guild and have just unlocked the Vulpera race i cannot accept the invite from my alt toon. This is very frustrating.
You say “mainly” your own guild. Do you have at least one guildie who might be able to invite your vulpera for you? I know this is not a solution to the main problem (the applicant functions being broken), but it might at least solve your immediate issue.
I, too, am very frustrated by the seeming lack of concern Blizz is showing toward this problem.
I do have 2-3 other people in my guild. However, the characters they have in my guild are also alts and they are not on those as much. Its basically how i set my guild up because i myself have a limited amount of time i can dedicate to the game, etc. But, when they are on i have been able to get them to add my alt/alts to the guild. But again, 99% of the time its just me so it would be nice if i could just do it myself.
—Yah, for our guilds that STILL can’t accept invites attempting to use their guild finder system, the OLD way is the ONLY way we can get our toons or any new toons into our guilds ( post merge / merges). Can’t believe we started this post on August 7th, 2020 and still haven’t received a confirmed BLUE POST to acknowledge they are at least attempting to fix this issue.
