Possible to level from 50-60 in older content?

Yeah, my main is my only 60, and I have 20 level 50s :open_mouth: maybe after I can fly . . . . . . . . . . . .

You can but blizzard doesn’t want you to. Plz blizzard, let us level unimpeded while not visiting the old folks home, it’s depressing there.

I leveled my rogue alt to 60 without ever doing shadowlands. Archaeology gives the XP at normal levels all the way. Spent all the last 10 levels trying to get the vial of the sands recipe. My main is only 56, because I felt like it was such a slog working through the story. So, if you have a reason to do archaeology, or don’t find it too boring, you can level with that.

Yeah tradeskills and pet battles, its gonna be slow, but it will work

No. You bought this xpac for the 50-60 content it provides., and you knew that going in.

Makes no sense. They stay there so they won’t run out of SL content, not because it is terrible. The campaign finishes before you hit 60 and then you have to go do something else.

It has to do with whether you’re in Chromie time, not anything to do with the zones themselves. You are kicked out of Chromie time at 50. You can continue doing questing with diminishing xp if you’re not in Chromie time.

Lots of people have turned their xp off so they can continue to quest indefinitely in Chromie time.

Archaeology, pet battles, and gathering professions all offer XP through level 60.

That raises an interesting question…why do I want to get to 60, if I don’t want to do any Shadowlands?

Good question. To me, it sounds like…you don’t. Which begs the question…WHY DID YOU BUY IT?

I think you can if you use party sync with a friend who is at a lower level.

It’s already been said more or less, but some people seem to be getting grumpy and not understanding.

IF you choose Chromie time, you WILL get booted out of whatever old xpac you chose as soon as you ding 50.
If you do NOT choose Chromie time, you literally can go to any zone from previous xpacs and level up to 60 there, however, you’ll be above most quest and npc levels and it will most likely be painfully long, getting little to no xp while doing so.
I mean, some people have leveled 1-60 doing just herbing, and there are even a couple that have leveled all the way to 60 still in their starter zone. I’m pretty sure there’s a Pandaren still in the starting zone that never picked a side and leveled to 60.

That said, I don’t think I could do the painfully slow leveling in old zones like that, and I have a ton of alts I like to level.

My panda (the one with issues) has leveled from 100-120 and now to almost 53 without leaving Pandaland (with side trips to the his garrison). He does little pet quests. Lots and lots of little pet quests.

i have two characters that have the bfa leggo cloak, and only did the maw intro to get a portal to oribos --did nothing else SL except train up their professions. those two have done every bfa emissary and weekly black empire invasions since the expansion patch, along with holiday bosses and darkmoon profession quests, and they only dinged 54 yesterday

just for contrast, ten years ago i leveled an alt from 80-85 just grinding out the argent tournament and knights of ebon blade factions in Northrend, never taking that toon to any cataclysm content aside from the (then new) capital city cooking/fishing daily quests (and the harbor sharks were really dangerous)

And it takes magnitudes longer since you are getting a pittance of exp compared to current content. And good luck getting to 60.

I don’t really care how long it takes, since I’m already sick of Chorelands endgame.

Right now it’s far more interesting,

When you hit 50, all the xp rewards from non SL questing drops from 5+ k xp per quest to 1k xp tops.

So, yes you CAN still level in the old zones, but it will take you MUCH MUCH longer to do so.

They should let you level at least a few levels in until you get forced to SL. In BFA, you could level 2 levels in before you saw a huge drop in xp rewards.

The fact that people don’t rush in at lvl 48 into SL…and also the fact they refuse to let us skip the intro Escape from the Maw snoozefest, should tell them there is an issue.

It’s even worse for me since I did that intro over 10 times in beta…so extra boring for me.

Well… unless you want to do it via PvP and consider that older content…

You could pvp I guess

Yep, that famous panda leveled to max again without any combat. Not sure how many herbs he had to pick, but he got it done.

Of course you can level to 60 without setting foot again in Shadowlands but…why? It’s so much faster to do threads of fate and spam dungeons. I leveled both my alts to 60 in no time flat doing that.

But if you guys REALLY hate SL that much and don’t mind hundreds of hours of picking herbs and pet battles, knock yourselves out.
