With all the talk of a level squish what number would work for everyone. Just so it would work with allied races and hero classes
Half everything, scrunch it to 60
But if we did that then what would the allied races and hero classes start at
Meh. With the weird level/iLvl scaling nonsense going on, the only level “squish” that makes any sense is 1. That’s right, the number 1. No level gain, because it’s bloody pointless. Only iLvl matters now, and only above a certain point.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a fan of any of this nonsense. However, if Party Sync is going to be a thing, and Level Scaling isn’t going away, this is the only logical conclusion. And it sucks.
You half their starting levels as well. EVERYTHING is halved.
Edit: If blizzard made a “level prestige” system I’d be okay with that… Nothing past level 100, once you hit 101 you gain a rune icon next to your level and it’s, in example, {Insert green rune here} 1. However, I doubt they’re going to do that so next best thing is to half ALL of it and just to 60.
Edit 2: Problem with that rune sytem is that it still spreads out spells and you aren’t gonna be gaining new ones for a real long time. If you squish it all to 60, you’re gaining abilities far more rapidly. It just takes longer to accumulate a level, but it feels far more rewarding.
DKs now start a Level 27 with half their bars to 28 filled!
I don’t think the level squish is a bad thing I just don’t know how it could be implemented and not be a terrible experience.
Do you like do one quest and get a level?
Does it take the same time to go 1 to 60 as 1 to 120 does now?
Are you able to stay in zones and follow quest lines?
Keep in mind, the 120 boost that was datamined in 8.2.5 would go against the possibility of a level squish in the near future. Can’t boost to 120 if the max level is 60.
They may as well go full bore and just squish it down to zero levels.
Level squish is a bad idea. I hope it never happens. It’s not like Blizzard, on their current trajectory, has another 8 expansions to launch.
Blizzard should fix up the current system, converge the once work, now broken things back to WLK, and make the game prosper.
Just remove levels, they mean absolutely nothing. Level 5 is the same as level 60 as long as scaling is in the game.
LK? I thought MoP was the Golden Age of this game.
Level Squish is a total waste of resources and should not be done. Our current level of 120, and soon 130, is the only thing left of the original World of Warcraft that we still have that tells us we were IMPROVING our character for the last 15 years.
Not even the Achievement System can tell us that, because it’s missing a majority of Classic & the Burning Crusade content.
Not a fan. Squishes never come w/o unforeseen consequences which in turn don’t get fixed for God knows how long.
What exactly is the problem being addressed by this?
To me, a level squish kind of feels like being demoted, but I understand it, cause 130 is getting a little silly. That being said, if 60 becomes max, you gotta make it so we don’t have to wait until 10 to change specs. Some classes start with god awful specs and can’t escape them until 10.
coughWARRIORcough
Technically level 100 is the last thing that showed improvement, since it’s when we last received a talent. If you wipe out azerite armor and the heart system, like they already did with legion artifacts, there wouldn’t be any notable landmark on our characters past level 100 that shows we’ve grown in power.
Might as well rid of the “levelling” experience nonsense and just dedicated to gearing and some sort of other developing that’s no “Artifact” caca points.
Other than that yeah levelling is an old school MMO style that I feel is no longer prevalent to today’s MMO and instead we should follow a different approach.
Back when I played Everquest Online adventures (first Ps2 MMO) we had something called class mastery, it worked similar to experience except whenever you filled the experience bar you would get 1 or 5 CM (class mastery) in which you invested on to enhance your class’s performance.
Something in WoW would probably be like this I think (ex: Fireball invest 1 point for critical strike, invest 5 for either fireball instant cast or Fireball with DoTs). Quite identical to our classic old talent tree
So why did they make us level up from 110 to 120 with nothing gained, also making us weaker as we did so? Who thought that was a good idea? Now they want to do a level squish?
The current team cannot think ahead about anything.
It takes the same time to get to 60 as it gets to 120 now. You don’t just void all this content…
It’s literally the same, you just make the number 60 and move spells around so levels actually feel rewarding. It gets rid of all these filler levels.
Ion Hazziskostas maybe?
Dude reminds me of an annunaki alien lizard with that stoic face
