Possible fix for RFD change

Main goal of this post is in hope that it reaches a dev for Classic wow and this is all coming from someone who plays a lot of TBC daily, i think even with changes to the LFG tool, it still won’t stop the discrimination against classes that aren’t meta in player’s eyes. i do like the motive for removing RFD, but other people who play this game as much as i do know the struggle and 100% want it. Just imagine it like this, you could run 5 dungeons with RFD in the same amount of time as it would take to do 1-2 an hour with the way LFG currently is. So, I’d be possibly meeting 16-20 new people I could become friends with! Rather than questing and talking to no one (unless I’m maybe on some group quest ) If I could suggest an idea, I say keep it in the game and make every dungeon have a 30 sec. window before you can actually go in (kind of like overwatch) where you can buff up and you could chat. Like about what boss strats/routes you could use in there, what loot you’re excited about possibly dropping from here or even what quest you were happy about getting out of doing since you were teleported here instead lol. I really do think RFD would benefit the community more than hurt it. I appreciate all the effort everyone puts in for classic and wish you all the best!<3

I think their should be both LFG and RDF, people can choose which option they want to use, player agency is best. Sometimes you just want to log and do a dungeon or two quick, and sometimes you want to spam run each heroic in a day. RDF works great for the quick hit and LFG works great for finding a group you’re confident will be able to smash out many dungeons in a row.

The only fix is to just add it in.

Agreed. It seems the majority of the community are actually against the removal of RDF

you can’t have a server community where half the server does LFG and the other half does some automated queue that puts them in dungeons with people from other servers.
one of the biggest parts of “classic” is that server community. being known to your peers on the server as “that guy”. once you bring in server agnosticism, people just become another face in the crowd.

It’s sad you have such a poor attitude towards the larger community that loves Classic WoW. There are many different and awesome people on all the servers not just your own.

When I used the dungeon finder in Wrath on original release, the 5 man ICC dungeons were new and there were quite a few people unsure of the mechanics. Talking to people, sharing instructions and prompts during the fights happened in quite a few of my randoms. I don’t expect after all this time that would still be necessary but I’m prepared to do it. Why?

Because community begins with me. I cannot force people to respond but willingness to work with others is a must if I want to grow and enrich a community. How can we do this if we do not have the opportunity to interact with the Classic community at large? Small servers and mega realms are part of the Classic family. Levelers and raiders both are important. This tool is not and should not be divisive. It literally helps to bring us together. Even with guilds sometimes a little more assistance is needed. People on one server may not be available to take part at the hour of my choosing.

But four others out there even on another server that love WoW like me can team up to get that dungeon cleared. They aren’t just faces in a crowd. They at that moment are heroes and the dungeon finder aided our victory. Server identity is great but spreading the comaraderie to reach out to our fellow gamers on other realms isn’t a social ill. That’s building community as well.

Yeah you’re right.
I played in late wrath and it was a blast using dungeon finder and meeting people.

Give me a break, you can still easily form connections if you want to. But 95%, or more, of your server is faceless to you. RDF would allow you to meet 10x more people than otherwise. Its up to you if you want to try and form friendships with them.
