Today I hade a situation that I don’t think is suppose to be possible, I had a hunter FD mid cast on my Hammer of Wrath (same as any other cast magic attack), my cast in this situation continued casting after his FD was executed.
It has been my experience until just recently that FD would cancel a cast that has not yet completed. Today while in AV I experienced a couple (two) intances vs the same hunter where my cast would continue VS his successfully executed FD.
(he played well the game engine seems to have failed him)
What I suspect is happening, and more evidence of this are the following instance that I thought may have been just a positioning bug but now I think its a game engine bug that’s treating players like NPC’s in terms of dodge, resists and things of that nature in these cases.
The second possible related instance is I have had my backstab dodged by players. Backstab can be dodged by NPC but never suppose to be dodged by players but I have and a friend of mine has also experienced this.
ORINGINAL POST and questions below.
If a hunter uses FD VS say a frost bolt cast before it goes off this should stop the cast correct?
At least this is the way I remember things being… Maybe my memory is wrong, but I have noticed that my casts are no longer stopping after FD is executed vs a player with success.
if any hunters can confirm or deny, so I can let this die or move to bugs would be good.
What I am saying is that if a hunter casts FD then my frost bolt should top casting… At least this is the way I think its suppose to work and how I remember it working just a patch or two back…
Now my casts continue even after the hunter FD and that’s not fair to the hunter.
I mean… maybe I am remembering wrong??? but its only been since mid August since the patch and there are quite a few things broken, I just noticed this today.
ok, then perhaps they are treating players like NPC’s because I have seen in the last month a few cases where a player who was 100% not moving dodge (not miss) my backstab.
That I think could indicate players are being treated like they’re NPC’s when it comes to avoidance / failure of abilities.
At least this could be the situation, but I don’t know.
