Was the swim speed of this mount nerfed? I bought it and it doesn’t seem very fast at all.

It swims faster than swim speed and that’s really all that matters.

I don’t feel like it’s faster than the artifact fishing pole.

Partly, this is due to water not having very many “reference” points while moving - so it is naturally harder to gauge the speed in open water because you cannot pinpoint one spot of ocean from another very well and judge how fast you’ve gone from point “A” to “B”. It will also only swim at the same speed as other aquatic mounts in areas other than Vashj’ir, which may be noticed more. Admittedly, the only real “perk” of this mount in most water zones (coming from someone who heavily farms/sells the mount) is that it is from a rare, Poseidus, which is still received by a very small number of profiles for a number of reasons, one of the most troublesome being that the questline to Vashj’ir can be bugged, and this means that the portal in Org to Vashj’ir does not work and/or cannot be opened. You can still reach Vashj’ir in this case by porting to Org, then using the port to Twilight Highlands and flying the rest of the way (through Dun Morogh and crossing the sea at the point were the two areas are nearest to avoid fatigue-death), but it is very clearly more time-consuming. The difficulty in getting to the zone itself for some dissuades plenty of attempts to try and farm the rare, making this a mount many don’t bother with. But, because it isn’t always the easiest to get to, because it is not obtained by a large number of profiles, it is a bit of a standout in comparison to other aquatic mounts. That all said, the spawn-time has been reduced, so that it spawns every 3-8 hours, and prices have been cut drastically from about 700K to a 20K average, though prices will vary with quantity and how much effort it took the seller to get to/find the rare. People tend to forget that the sellers have put in their time to track down or camp mounts/items…etc. and that that time must be compensated. Just because gold/cash was not spent on an item doesn’t mean that time wasn’t spent on it! So in the “usual” aquatic areas (meaning any water not in not Vashj’ir), no, it moves at the same speed as all other water mounts, with (if I’m not mistaken) a speed increase in Vashj’ir, but it is not marked (you’ll see no clear indication of speed increase) and you would be hard-pressed to tell any extra speed was gained. Reins of Poseidus is really more of a vanity mount, though if you do any travelling underwater, it can be useful, beautiful, and the envy of all those who’ve never even seen the rare it comes from. It is, at the VERY least, a unique model. My apologies for the long-winded response, but I do hope it helps someone :slight_smile:
