So we have killed 9 priests and no portal spawn.
First attempt with this PUG, killed 3 priests got a portal. 2nd attempt, 7 priests no portal. 3rd attempt 9 priests, no portal. WTF is wrong with this boss?
Similar story for our group this past weekend. Sometimes 3 priests, sometimes never find it. Just figured we had super bad luck.
Its not luck. it is bad coding. There is no luck in a built in coding system like this. It literally should auto spawn a portal when they all come walking to you if you do not have a portal.
I did notice a change last night when I ran it. Every other time I ran it the portal always spawned after 6 priests died. We always assumed you had to kill 6 priests. Last night I believe it spawned after 3 and 7 kills.
I’ve seen portals drops after one Priestess kill more than once.
I’ve also seen kills of 7+ without a portal dropping.
it’s rng… sometimes it’s the first and you can kill a tentacle some times it’s the 8th and you barley make it out with all of them attacking you or anywhere in between… If you’re getting sent down more than 3 times you need more dps
This happened because you spawned the portal, didn’t see it, and kept killing priests as the portal sat there and you didn’t click it. You can pretend like it wasn’t the case, but that was 100% the case.
If I was in there by myself, maybe I’d consider this.
The fact that someone else was in there with me, we’re on voice call, and we’re always calling out portals incase one of us misses it somehow… And the odds of what you describe get incredibly low when similar experience were happening across the entire guild raid group with different mix and matches of people describing the same issue across over 20 pulls.
I ran pugs on an alt, and I saw first hand people saying portals didn’t spawn, and one of the people clicked on it and the other kept killing things, I have seen it several times.
Yeah, I had no priest and no portal, Inwas in a dream like state, and was just like “yolo” and kept dpsing the boss. We killed him but a lot of people died, did I do that??
I believe you, but none of my runs were pugs, and all 10 members were on voice and making call outs on portals and we always lost both members.
