I just accepted the “Nethergarde Needs You!” quest from Silithus and took the portal to Blasted Lands. I was placed into the WoD phase of the zone, and was immediately attacked by several enemies. Had to escape and find Zidormi to get to the correct phase.
A few minutes later I got a new weapon and decided to Death Gate back to Acherous to runeforge. When I Death Gated back to Blasted Lands I was put back into the WoD phase, and died to 6 enemies.
I see there are several threads about this dated from 2019 to 2021. Will this issue be addressed?
Yeah, of all the zones with Zidormi, this is the most frustrating one. It doesn’t save your selection, and reverts to the WoD version anytime you leave the zone, including if you go a few feet too far into Swamp of Sorrow.
Blasted Lands and Dustwallow Marsh should be updated to remember which version of the zone you select, like how Arathi Highlands, Darkshore, Uldum, and Vale of Eternal Blossoms all remember what version of the zone you have selected.
Additionally, the Dark Portal in the Cataclysm version of the zone should be fixed so that you can actually walk through it and portal to the Dark Portal in Outland.
Talking with Zidormi to change the time only works for the particular zone you are in that you ask her to change it.
Agree. This can be a big problem for a low level without flight, which the original Blasted Lands content is at an appropriate level. The choice is not persistent.
