Been flying there to do VOA, but I swear there was a portal in original wotlk? Does it come in a later phase? Do I have to do a quest? What’s up?
Yeah, if my memory serves me, before the battle, you’d have to talk to the elf to queue up, or just physically travel there for the battle. If and when your faction won the battle, there would be a portal to Wintergrasp in that same room you can queue from in Dalaran.
I could be remembering this from a later expansion though. Although I doubt it since Wintergrasp was unfortunately not a thing anymore.

no portal since they made wintergrasp cross realm

the old portal used to be in the middle of the portal room, but it’s not there on retail anymore either. i just looked.
