Portal Rooms and Mages

Who are the Mages maintaining the new Portal Rooms? We should Tip them for each time a portal is used. They’re working 24x7 to keep them up and need to make a living! How much would you tip them?

I am pocket sized so my tip would be minimal ( taking up less portal space ) 20s, TOPS.

I tip Blizzard $15 dollars a month, you think they could open up a few more portals for us.

But they want you to feel like the world is BIG, they want you to like it being BIG. Do you like BIG things? they want you to.

If you want to play a game with one zone or a game that doesn’t feel like a vast world then this game isn’t for you new gen

As melee DPS, I stare at big boss booty most of the time. Big things get kind of uninteresting after long enough.

I mentioned this in another thread, but portals being maintained by mages is a genuine thing in WoW, and if they bothered to show that, it would be a lot easier to give a legitimate story reason for removing some older portals. “We need their efforts to go toward current military routes” or something.

So your saying it should be a BIG tip then?

Don’t say that! Next thing you know Blizz will charge us each time we use a portal. You know like how that gnome on Darkmoon charges you 10 silver to be ported back to the cannon. lol

Sometimes it’s best if Blizz doesn’t try to explain certain things because so much of it exists simply due to game mechanics.

The issue is that we -have- seen that portals are maintained by mages in-game. They just don’t show it for portal hubs for some reason.

If there was a mage hanging out near, say, the Caverns of Time portal named ‘Riftmaster Bob’, then after the patch the portal was gone and ‘Bob’ was instead maintaining a portal in the Stormwind hub, it would be a neat little flavor thing and give credibility to the change.

The world is actually huge, which is why I like to take portals everywhere. No one is stopping you from RP walking.

Oh, I agree with the flavor part 100%. I always enjoy running into NPCs like that.
