Just curious if any steps will be taken to ensure balanced factions and servers that aren’t overcrowded. Or will the same thing happen that happened in classic?

Honestly, if they committed to enforcing healthy population distribution on these realms, I might reroll. I’m playing on one of the most balanced realms in the world right now, but I’ve seen time and time again that they can lose balance and tip to their own doom.

i would think you would want the fresh server to get over populated with queue times, because once the gates open, I’d wager a large chunk of the population will return to their main server.
Imagine wanting the fresh server to be your wotlk destination and being locked out because you weren’t quick enough to make a character, only for that spot to be left vacant when wotlk actually releases.

People like you just don’t get it. NON mega servers will die. The only way fresh servers will be remotely successful is they only make one of each type. This is how they achieve population control on fresh servers.

Exactly this. But even then I’m scared that the pvp server will be full alliance and the pve one will be full horde. If they allow transfers between them.
I still believe there should be only 1 fresh realm per region, that way crybabies will have nowhere to run if their faction gets to 49/51
OFC all of this would simple be fixed if they implemented a faction queue if one faction gets to the point of 55/45 ratio. That way you can never go above that ratio and people would be inclined to play the other faction to actually be able to enter the game, it balances itself out (it’s a brilliant idea).

To be honest the best thing that blizzard could do with regard to faction ratios is say there will be a buffed versions of alliance racial abilities especally emfh, that racials will be useable in bg/arena, and nerfing the resilience on the cc remover pvp trinket.

Yeah that’s definitely a huge downside of capping the servers. Doesn’t really seem realistic honestly. But i’m hoping they think of something.
Yeah, it’s called wait 3 months so you can move to a more balanced server or probably tip that one to hell lmao.
