Being told by a certain other OP about this server to NOT roll there unless you’re going to RP otherwise they will report you for not answering their /whispers if they see you not actively RPing around them can definitely be considered threatening to their game play.
I don’t think most people who are going to roll there are making toons just to ruin serious RP players fun. They just want a more mature atmosphere and laid back experience. At some point they may dip their toes in to the RPing aspect after watching/listening to others.

Pretty sure I’ll main one of my two reserved names on Grob. Never rolled on a pvp server, never on an rp server either. Ill keep it chill and Im sure Ill find parties and a guild with a weird name along the way as I level.

When I joined the Grobbulus discord server and asked if noobs wanting to learn RP were welcome (I have never rp’d before but want to give it a try), every single person who replied to me said they were wanting noobs to join and find a home.
I too came across quite a few threads on this here forum warning me of the egregious sin it was to roll on the RP-PVP server and not partake in their glorious RP. I was a little scared, but everyone on the discord convinced me otherwise. I hope anyone else you talk to has a change of heart, because I believe the elitists are in the minority, and everyone who isn’t them has been especially kind and welcoming.

There is no need to be concerned. Even with the RP tag, RP’ers will be the minority and many of the RP’ers will be OOC (out of character) usually. You’ll likely have to look for people or know the community hot spots if you want to RP.

Why do people feel the need to recruit people for the only RPPVP server we’ve got? Seriously, just knock it off already. Both the gatekeeping as well as the recruiting of people who would otherwise not choose RPPVP. There are likely TONS of players who simply do not want to sub early just to reserve names, yet will be here on release day for Grobbulus.
Again, please just knock it off.
What on earth does that even mean? I am sorry if this sounds hostile, but people are well aware of the RPPVP server we got, and do not need these threads prior to release, much less 12 days out. We are already at medium population 12 days before release, which no doubt includes a slew of layers. If we have too many (and RPPVP players WILL be retained more than other servers) then we are just asking for queues once the layers collapse.

Just let the population slowly grow without the courting of non-RPers. Being at a medium population prior to collapse of layers is a Good Thing.

I know… Jerkwads like that automatically assume just because you have a gnome named Puntme it’s not RP. He was a gnome thief who got the nickname by being kicked over walls and gaps by his crew! Actually got a GM to revert the name change on that one.

Here is my question. If the RP event is in a contested zone, and I and others came and killed those players (with or without knowledge of an event) is this against Blizzard’s RP ToS? Would my PvP Softcore Faction War RP be valid over the persons set up event.
Lol. That’s great. The names I had weren’t very RP friendly, but one I had for around 4 years before some pole-smoking loser thought it’d be cool to report it. For the most part I kept to myself, and didn’t disrupt anyone RPing. Mostly did PvP in BGs. I joined ED because it was hcill, and had healthy faction ratios. I had respect for RP players til the moment some dickwad reported a name. I would ONLY roll RP now to intentionally disrupt.
