Poor Shadowstep Rune Quest Design

It is a shame that, again, the rogue rune quest involving “C” (Deadly Brew/Shadowstep) ends with a tedious run through Silverpine, back to a major city, and then back to SFK again. If you’re alliance, you need to hearth and then fly back to Southshore and then run back to SFK.

The entire “you get the letter mailed to you when you enter a city” feels incredibly gamey and contrived. Also, why is the dead-drop site still SFK? I thought that was a matter of convenience considering the last mission was SFK focused. Are there not enough rotting buildings near SM to do a more convenient dead-drop?

Next phase, it would feel both much more convenient and appropriate if, by now, us “repeat customers” can be trusted to just return the item and loot the phase 3 rune at the (hopefully new) dead-drop site simultaneously. There’s no mystery anymore in how these letters work. The lore flavor letter we get afterwards, on a now random timer, will probably feel a lot better too, rather than an incredible inconvenience.

My favorite is all the goofballs insisting Alliance have free runes and in no way have to run 30+ minutes per Rogue rune.

Just give Alliance a portal to SM, and a FP in STV.

FYI as alliance you can run up north to UC and then run back down so no need to hearth and all that. I just ran into the UC backdoor a little and saw that I received the letter and I was able to get my rune.

I do that too, but the most recent one you supposedly have to read the letter, requiring ally to go to a mailbox.

Im pretty sure the shadowstep quest is bugged for me.

I got the letter from “C” telling me to go to dead drop, but it didnt start a quest

went to dead drop and i cannot interact with it.

im not getting another letter in mail, ive been to capital city and back and forth, its really making me frustrated.

Rogues got shafted in phase2.
