Poor excuse for server list for WoW Anniversary

TL;DR just someone who knows the game could be enjoyable venting about how Blizzard couldn’t give less of a care about their customers if they tried. Specifically, the woefully underrated realm list for Anniversary Classic.

Wow releases Anniversary, a second chance to do Classic better without capping the players at vanilla. Cool. Then they only release 4 servers, one of which is hardcore, two of which are PvP… okay. Odd choice, but see how it goes.

So I - an Australian resident, log on 3 hours after Anniversary launches, and it has 3 full servers. Aware that full doesn’t mean unavailable, but does mean potentially large inconvenience (especially if I want to play with a group, which I do), I opt for the ONLY server not full. Oh, and it’s an Australian server… but it’s PvP…

So the choices I now have are:
1- run on a server with lag high enough that it will make me feel like I’m playing 20 years ago with a potential and likely wait time each time I log in, or…
2- run on a server where I don’t actually get to engage in any honest PvP, instead having the ONLY PvP I experience being people either red or skull higher than me, more often than not in groups, (the most common number is 3v1), where there is actually ZERO chance of me being able to do anything except move myself to die a little closer to the graveyard.

Ignoring the fact that there’s no real reason for this ridiculous behaviour and I am honestly confused and feel a little sad for the people doing the ganking like this, because I can’t imagine how bored they must be to find any sort of enjoyment in this, I now get to the point of this post:

Blizzard, what off-brand crack were you smoking when you decided this would be okay?? Why did you think 4 servers was enough?? Why did Australians get regulated to either mandatory griefing through PvP or lag times and login queues??

Some people will suggest it’s my fault for playing on a PvP server, but, you know, if it’s a choice between playing or waiting in a queue with my limited time, I don’t actually have much of a choice. Others will suggest Blizzard doesn’t control the griefers. True, however, they knew this would happen. Because this is what ALWAYS happens on PvP servers. There are now 5 different versions of this game (excluding hardcore) and it happened on every single one. So, yes, they knew this would be a problem, and not only did they not avoid it, they actively bottlenecked certain players into having to experience it.

Being at the point I need to change entire questing regions or change characters because over-levelled death squads are roaming around dropping everyone they can is not what I call a worthwhile use of my spare time.

I guess my real question is when Blizzard will at least pretend to care about the customer first, at least for the sake of image?? How hard would one or two more servers really be?? How much of a dent would that actually put in Blizzard’s gold-plated McDuckian vault??

Maybe I’m the ahole. I just wanna enjoy a game with my friends, without being regulated to a tight-knit group of paranoia while working through over 80% of the game’s content, and running solo only if I like having repair costs several times a day.

TLDR?

Maladath is and will be a decaying server. OCE players cried so hard about latency that they gave in at the last second.

Dreamscythe is the best option if you want to play Anniversary, plenty of guilds on both factions.

Dreamscythe is approx. 150ms ish which is perfectly playable, we have been playing Era which is the same ping.

Where is there a queue?

I also suggest you give Dreamscythe a try. I am having some connection issues in some places and somewhat randomly, but it’s not the issue it would be if was playing hardcore.

I have had zero queue time. I always get straight in. It’s only some latency issues, that’s it.

Yes, it’s almost like the OP has never logged into the Anniversary servers ever.

Not having an AUS pve realm i can see being a valid complaint. The rest is you screaming into the void. Has anyone here actually ever had a wait time to log in since launch?
