Just so you are aware, Griefing is not something Blizzard will action.
Call him out in general chat and report him.
Haven’t player classic in a long time so don’t remember if mobs become immune to polymorph, though I’m pretty sure players had diminishing returns.
Blizzard probably won’t do anything about it unless he has been doing it to you for hours.
Polymorph is breakable mage would run out of mana and depending on your class you can 1 shot mobs or 2 shot them if you have good gear.
Banish your probably screwed unless you can kill it before he can recast it.
Or harassment, if it happens for to long, which yea they would take action on if it made it so you where unable to play. i can look around one of the forum archives if you’d like, but i think if you ticked it in that a player wasn’t allow you to kill mobs for about 2-12 hours Blizzard would take action in some form, (It may of depending on server as well.)
It’s not about killing them in 0.001 seconds, it’s about continually doing damage.
You don’t have to outdamage Polymorph healing. You just have to actually hit them often enough that they don’t get a lot of healing from it. If you’re a warrior, slap Rend on the mob. If you’re a shaman, keep down a Searing Totem. That sort of thing.
Polymorph does not heal instantly, it requires a full tick before the first bit of healing comes in. You should be able to damage the mob often enough that it rarely gets any healing from it. Further, the 30-50% number is not something that I remember from Vanilla; I remember that being a BC change, though I could be wrong.
Poly breaks on any damage. Banish is the douchey one
These Mafias survive by cross faction cooperation.
Which is not against the ToS. Blizzard won’t care nor should they.
Play an alt until the d-bag gets tired of waiting for you to log back in.
I’m pretty sure people couldn’t Poly tapped/tagged mobs on the Demo. If this stays through launch it means Poly griefing won’t be a thing outside of sheeping enemy players so they regen health (xfaction collusion), which is bannable.
I very much doubt you couldn’t poly a tapped mob. In fact, I’m certain that’s not true. If I accidentally aggro a second mob with some damage, I’d be grateful if a mage passing by sheeps it to keep it from killing me.
In any event, what do you do if someone is trolling by constantly sheeping a mob you’re trying to kill? Report him and let a GM sort it out.
If it happens you can report and hope for the best. Nothing is likely to happen unless the clown follows you around for awhile and CC’s all your mobs… then it may get to the point of harassment, but that will take awhile.
Anyways, if you’ve tagged the mob and they want it… too bad? You tagged it, it’s not like they can steal it from you unless you go hearth out or something. Just bandage up or work on weapon skills or jump in circles or whatever. They’ll get bored and move on at some point; the question is if your breaking point is before theirs.
Yes they do 100% quit spreading misinformation.
Behavior
Behavior that intentionally detracts from others’ enjoyment (such as griefing, throwing, feeding, etc.) is unacceptable. We expect our players to treat each other with respect and promote an enjoyable environment. Acceptable behavior is determined by player reports and Blizzard’s decision, and violating these guidelines will result in account and gameplay restrictions.
While we encourage you to report players that are behaving in a disrespectful manner, falsely reporting another player with the sole intent of restricting their gameplay is also unacceptable and will result in penalties to your account.
If you’re unsure if your actions violate this code of conduct, reconsider them. We reserve the right to restrict offending accounts as much as necessary to keep Blizzard games a fun experience for all players.
Didn’t polymorph generate some considerable amount of threat in vanilla? I remember a time where mages could polymorph a mob and, once it broke, it was sometimes enough threat to overcome healers (if they weren’t using a lot of heals).
If that’s the case, you could use a threat drop to send the mob to the mage while it was still tagged to you and just pull something else. The mage can’t poly another target without breaking the previous poly at which point they risk the mob going after them.
You could also run off and let the mage tag it and then aggro the mob and run off with it and force it to deaggro if it doesn’t die too quickly if you wanted to try something similar.
Personally I would just call out on local chat. As long as it’s not a sparsely populated area, there should be people who would be willing to help. I would also /who members of their guild and let them know what’s going on. If their guild cares enough, they’ll kick him. If not, you know not to deal with him or that guild in any group situation.
working as intended
There is no in-game policy against “trolling” or “griefing”. Trolling applies to the Forums only and griefing, is a bit nebulous and not a violation of our policies.
World of Warcraft Forums
“Griefing” is not against policy. If they are killing a quest NPC they have access to, they generally have every right to.

In the end Blizzard decides when and where to enforce the rules, not the player. You can still post in Customer Support if you don’t believe me…
That’s really cute you found a gm who said this when this is literally on their website
Blizzard's In-Game Code of Conduct
Blizzard's stance on inappropriate behavior in Blizzard games.
It specifically says greifing is ban-able so literally everything you post doesn’t matter it’s written RIGHT there
Like I said, you can always ask on the CS forums for Clarification. What do you have to lose?
Like I said it doesn’t matter what they say when they have it literally in their rules right there. I have been banned for greifing, and I know people who have also been banned for greifing. Just because some random CM said 3 years ago it isn’t bannable doesn’t mean it actually isn’t. I know it is for a fact and it is written literally right there.
If you choose to believe the CM that’s fine, but just know it’s wrong in today’s Warcraft
And you expect me to take you at your word? Ask on the CS forums if you wanna prove me wrong.
Those posts were years ago and most of them just said the specific instance the post was about was not banable.
And don’t take my word for it, take the words THAT A WRITTEN DOWN WORD FOR WORD IN THEIR RULES.
Greifing=bannable
Just in case you didn’t read it

Those are their rules period no ands ifs or buts
And you can interpret your posts as “there isn’t a specific example of greifing that is in the rules that’s bannable but if we see its greifing we will ban”
