People that actually think Shadowlands is worse than WoD are easily manipulated and 100% ruled by their emotions.
I’m voting Shadowlands, not because I think its the worst in terms of the quality of content, but because I think its the worst in terms of how little hope I have that it’ll ever get better than this again.
I feel like SL is either rock bottom or pretty damn close to it.
In terms of the actual quality of the expansion, all else aside, definitely WoD.
I played all through WoD and It was definitely a better experience than Shadowlands.
Alts were incredible to play and required very minimal effort put into them, you could level up and just go get geared in raid. You had challenge mode gear you could get and the raids and classes were both incredible.
This is undeniably the absolute lowest point I’ve ever felt being a wow consumer and I’ve played it all. From the lawsuit, to the poor content and delays to the rise of other expansions.
It feels horrible.
It genuinely makes me sad at the state of the game, after spending some time in FFXIV over the weekend it makes me even sadder.
Hopefully this causes significant change and a shakeup in the company and we see fresh blood and talent who are in love with the game.
Or we played both expacs.
At least I had alts to play with in WoD. Garrison was pretty fun. Korthia is just Tanaan Jungle and, honestly, I don’t see any difference between Shadowlands and WoD other than the lack of something cool, like the Garrison, and the frustrating way they separated zones so that flying has little value.
I feel like Shadowlands had more potential, but it’s one reason or another behind content delays.
Or maybe they are into pvp on wod. I hate SL more than wod only for the lore.

WoD is #1 worst of all expansion period.
Edit: WoD didn’t have any content for months. They scrapped a lot of planned contents. They’ve completely abandoned WoD. SL have a good reason.
The good part in wods lore is that we could just ignore it because, as soon as we get back to Azeroth, nothing have changed. SL otherwise is destroying 25 years of lore.
We literally time traveled to an alternative past reality, but that was somehow also a threat to our current timeline. What the hell are you on about? The entire expansion was an excuse to bring back dozens of dead characters for the sake of “rule of cool”.

Sylvanas spent the entire expansion (and working) working under the Jailer to say she would never serve at the last minute. The story is actually so cringeworthy and it blows my mind people are getting paid to write this absolute fanfic garbage.
2nd week of Covenant quest “oh no she chose vengeance”
3rd week of covenant quest “she must choose between vengeance and forgiveness(again?? even though it happens canonically right after 2nd week content) oh great she chose forgiveness this time” (15 seconds after the 2nd week content)

If you actually pay attention to the storyline, no she didn’t just started to work for the Jailer in SL or BFA if that matters. They met a long, long time ago.

Ok so tell me what’s that got to do with the fact she waits until she has helped him achieve his goal (that we have no idea what it means by the way because the writers are tragic) before deciding she didn’t want to serve him?
The story writers are just like “yeah we’ll keep writing these evil characters without saying what they want to achieve so we can get a sweet cutscene later”. It’s actually the worst way to write anything.

I’m not going to explain what happened to Sylvanas after she was murdered by Arthas. And yet, she want to work for the Jailer since WotLK. Murdering whoever is in her path since WotLK, so really it’s not just SL writing.
