Politics in wow

we have all the politics in wow I can stand see the be nice law coming up in 2,5

In real life? Sure you would technically lose claim on property but has it been stated in wows universe if that’s the case? If not then the forsaken still hold claim to it. If yes then i would think it being a horde capital for decades would help alleviate some of the issues regarding ownership.

One of the best aspects of FFXIVs story is the political undertone. There will always be talks about resources and developments leading up to and after major events that fleshes out the world something that WoW have almost never had.

Op isn’t talking about irl politics.

dont you get enough from RL?

Aren’t all the DK friendly now, and the ones that aren’t are dead? After the LK died the only one who can raise DK is Boldvar so it wouldn’t really make sense

We already get plenty of real life politics in wow. Really don’t want to add in-game politics on top of that. It will be more of a crap show then it already is.

He cant raise them anymore. Only the most powerful death knights can now and at most its as ghouls.

Blizz really screwed dks over lore wise. We now have no way to refill our numbers. Same as illidari

Aaaaaand it’s all put into books.

I would say yes, but I don’t think the writers are creative enough to generate that kind of nuance without hamfisting a bunch of poorly formulated sociopolitical agendas into this medieval high-fantasy backdrop.

We have had sprinkles of it. One in recent memory wasn’t so much politics but during the invasion by the Legion the Alliance player were convinced the Horde abandoned them for no reason, which lead to the vaporization of their King. I thought that was very interesting to see play out on the forums.

Now that I start thinking about it there is quite a bit more of it than I thought a few minutes ago.

edit: I could be thinking intrigue… and confusing the two.

No, no, no, no. :grimacing: I play this game to forget about real life politics, please not more politics in WoW too. lol

This isn’t “politics” so much as just “storylines that make sense for the characters”.

So, yeah, no, we’re not going to get any of that.

bad idea keep politics out of wow.

I think some new RP-specific events would be interesting. The horde story in BfA kind of, sort of, maybe went there a little but it really didn’t seem completed.

I do think it would be interesting to “switch sides” from horde to alliance and vice versa with any race. Undergo a specific quest line to do the side switching and once you have “switched” you lose a ton of old reputation and after switching you need to do a quest line and daily grind to gain reputation with the new faction and work your way up to neutral. You should definitely feel like an outcast with your new faction for a while.

And for the record: Oh thank god this thread isn’t what I thought it was going to be…

They used to do a better job of it back in the days of Vanilla to Cataclysm when they didn’t mind being darker. I wasn’t impressed with Bastion’s story conclusion where the murderous civil conflict hastily ended like an after school special where Jenny and Sally agreed to share the toy. Forget all the murdering Sally did five minutes ago in the service of the devil. It’s all in the past and we will now live happily ever after.

Wow community can’t help themselves. That’s just the way they are. Some want to keep the status quo while others want to change it.

More intrigue requires more story-telling and less “go kill this” type game-play.

So yes, I’m all for more intrigue.
