I use wow as a way to relax and get away from all the global drama I’m bombarded with constantly. Now wow is a focus in all this and I just want to be able to enjoy a game in my freetime. I don’t have a point other than I’m fatigued by all the drama, outrage, just everything. Sighing very hard.
Then you aren’t playing the video game …
Try not staying on the forums or internet and actually play the game… it’s the answer to all your worries
-
Instead of getting mad at the players, you could just mad at Blizzard for screwing up.

Are the General Discussion forums a key part of your enjoyment of World of Warcraft?
Those concentration camps in game beg to differ, little buddy. Fantasy has always been an analogy to politics. Orcs alone represent the rise of N azism in Germany.
Is there an ingame event involving politics that I missed?
Maybe just maybe, people like to talk about politics. Personally, I enjoy a bag of popcorn when they start going off.
- Be mad at Blitchung for dragging blizzard into it
- Be mad at the community for continuing to drag Blizzard further into.
Just turn off General chat. Problem solved.
My ignore list isn’t long enough
Why at Blitchung? He sported the Hong Kong protestors. Its not his fault Blizz caved hard to their Chinese oversears.
Well, we’ve had BS faction politics going since… what… MoP?
Or was it Legion?
Point is, they’ve been in your game for a while now. If you’re talking RL politics, it was only a matter of time.
Show me where Blizzard asked to be involved in this crap. Blizzard was happy being a business and not some political magnet until Blitz boy opened his mouth.
We can take this further.
- Be mad at the UK for giving Hong Kong back to China.
- Be mad at China for losing the O.pium (srsly, this is a filtered word?) wars and ceding Hong Kong to the UK.
- Be mad at China for the decadence of the Emperor and bad Nation management, leading to the rise of Mao.
- Be mad at Japan for toppling the Imperial Government and paving the road to the rise of Mao.
- Be mad at China for repeating the same cycle of splintering, oppression, unification war, dissent, oppression, splintering, unification war for the past 5,000 years.
I’m sorry that people dying is interfering with your enjoyment of a video game. Not everyone has the privilege of ignoring these things.
Because he did it in a venue where it was inappropriate to do it, and in violation of the terms of use (which he agreed to).
Supporting HK is not the issue, it’s where and how he made his statements that is the issue.
Recently, yes.
I just can’t level another alt man.
Like when I do, I feel my soul dying.
Blizzard is sleeping uncomfortably in a bed of their own making. They’re aren’t the victims here.
Well… on this, at least, we can agree.
It’s pretty much this. The only people that are defending them are those that are hopelessly addicted to the game and thus need their dopamine fix.
Let someone drag your sorry hide into something you dont want be apart and try to say that.
