Reached rank 15 with the Iskaara amd gathered 3 polished basalt. Turned them in and received my Polished Basalt Bracelet (message in text confirming receipt). Never saw it again. Not in my inventory, not in my spellbook.
What happened? How do I use it?
It works like an ability, not an actual physical item you need to use. Go find some lava, if you have fish tracking on you’ll now see magma thresher schools to fish

Went to Obsidian Citadel and looked for pools for almost an hour. Nothing. Is this normal?
There are NO pools in the Citadel try dragonbane keep and my fav spot is …
/way 33.8 64.4 , there are around 4 pools that spawn here, regular magma pools and overheated.
Edit: I got ALL my fishing upgrade gear here, took a good while but it’s fairly quiet and there are only 2 wandering dragonkin that are easy to kill (or tame and abandon in my hunters case).
I will try as you suggest. Odd that given the amount of lava around the Citadel they offer zero pools.

Best of luck, it can be a time consuming grind, but I enjoyed it.
Theres that sort of island where the bridges connect to where you were, the pools are only located between the bridge and the upper east part of the lava circle surrounding the land.
Theres other spots closer to where we first came to DF, you need to look up Lava thresher pools on Wowhead and it has a map of the very few locations.
