Point of playing with constant nerfs?

Now that we are able to buy corruptions from a RNG vendor, what’s the point of farming new builds if they are going to be nerfed?

I quit Path Of Exile for this exact reason, stop with the nerfs already it’s to ridiculous.

If you touch mastery stacking next with fire mages after finally being able to grab it… legit will uninstall.

Nice community response… already feel bad that you are playing a shaman.

I do find the corruption nerfs to be pretty odd at this stage of the game.

Pre-patch is probably going to be in a few months. Just let people be OP.

This patch is generally worse than the last one. The corruption vendor is pretty much changing the meta for the worse and everyone is ignoring the actual corruption abilities in favor of boring flat stat gains. On top of this terrible meta shift everyone now has to grind for this new currency and the items are needlessly on an absurd rotation schedule making it take even longer.

Because that’s how WoW has always worked?

Classes/abilites get nerfed/buffed nonstop. Some for the worse, some for the better.

One patch a class is KING, the next it’s mediocre or bad.

This is hardly new.

whats the point of having plenty types of corruptions when everyone seek for only 1 of them.
its called balance.
you know, to reduce the frustration of rng.

im guessing that is why they stopped introducing new races and talents. it makes it harder to balance every time.

i never understood that statement. “boring stats”. what makes a stat boring ? stat is stat. its not an activity. its a number to show your strengths and weaknesses.

Thing is, quite frankly your complaining is a bit silly. The responses you see are because, this is a natural process that happens is most MMO’s but especially has always happened in WOW throughout its history. This shouldn’t be a surprise to you, and if this is something that you cannot adapt to…well you won’t be able to ever enjoy the game. Because that is NEVER changing.

Things need to be addressed when they are OP. Simple as that.

Why anyone would play or quit over transitory systems like this is beyond me.

Corruptions are all over the place to begin with, not to mention Blizzard’s big swings in buffs or nerfs (more the latter).

Not a surprise to any veteran wow player that keeps there peepers open and is aware of what goes on in WoW’s lifetime.

Standard operating procedure for Blizzard. If something is broken, double down and break it some more.

What’s the point of playing Shadowlands when there will just be another expansion after that?

coughs coughs Infinite Stars cough cough

Well its not BFA so that’s a bonus I guess.

The nerfs can be rather annoying, but given all online games are attempted to be balanced once in a while, you tend to just accept it and move on, it’s an endless cycle. I do however have issues with the scammy RNG system. Some of us are unlucky and roll the same item from the weekly chest 2 times in a row and with the exact same corruption! This kind of RnG blows, and it really needs to be addressed sooner rather than later.

It’s one thing to balance a class and tune it down just a bit and another is to gut a class to being non existent.

Remember frost dk in Uldir? They gutted it to the ground and frost was useless for 2 full raid tiers.

Whats the point in doing anything if we’re just going to wither and die?

Same reason as this. “Because we can”

Least twilight dev will still be good

@OP,

I tell you the real reason why. What even has been going on in WoW recently? Arena World Championships for PvP. They are the main reason why corruption affixes are getting the nerf hammer.

Twilight Devastation
Infinite Stars
Gushing Wound

All have been nerf’d. Why? Point in case. AWC and non-AWC PvP Players.

Expedient will be next nerf for casters since it adds 12% Haste per corruption point. Imagine a Lock of Mage with x5 12% Expedient pieces equipped. For PvE sure, I’d love it, but, the PvP nerf headers are in full force. The AWC players have already seen Expedient as a threat let alone the “casual” PvP players. I don’t PvP, don’t really care about PvP, I do watch WoW AWC a lot, however, PvP weighs heavily upon PvE affixes/class/spec stats and affixes to what gets nerf’d next. Everyone jumps for joy when Mythic N’zoth HP gets reduced and able to down a end of expansion boss which is the MAIN content a bit easier for the prestigious guilds who are/have. But take PvP players into this…oh no no, we can’t have it this way. How can ppl win 2v2 or 3v3 when some Mage or Lock is throwing out Pyroblast or Chaos Bolts every 2 seconds? Can’t have that…so, the solution, nerf it. It’s ALWAYS been about PvP affecting PvE….always.

Furthermore, it’s ridiculous for Blizzard to stagger the Corruption affixes you can buy from MOTHER twice a week. Really, Infinite Stars Rank 1 for this week?? Who even wants that? Just put up Ranks 1-3 up for IS and TD and call it a day. Why should we need to wait for a week just for a “possible” Tier 3 IS or TD to pop up in MOTHER’s inventory? Why not just have them all there from the beginning so players can actually target/grind corruption pieces. Not like we’ve never rummaged through pages of gear before…(thinks about 32 pages of transmog appearances). Let me guess, b/c they don’t want some player to run with x2 Rank 3 IS or TD when someone else don’t even have the currency to buy them? That’s not on Blizzard, it’s on the player who decided not to grind Echo’s for that purpose. And I’m also going to guess staggering Corruption pieces is to not make one PvP player more “OP” than the other PvP player with stacking 2-3 corruption affixes at a time. There’s no difference to when a person waits for the corruption pieces to be in MOTHER’s inventory or have all 2-3 of the same affixes right then and there. Plus, don’t forget the additional chance from Weekly Chests that can also have the same Rank 3 IS, TD or Expedient corruption affect.

Shadowlands is another 6-7 months away and until then PvP is going to dictate how the rest of BFA’s corruption affixes will be until then since we still have Summer AWC to get through before BlizzCon AWC Championships in November.

I kind of chill, so that by the time I have the 15,000 echoes they are done nerfing.
Twilight dev. still seems pretty good to me, so i might go for rank 3 with that (have a two? and a one now, I think.)
