Point of Grimoire of Sacrifice

I’m leveling my Lock, really enjoying playing the class so far, rolling Destro. I’m looking ahead at my talents and see one for “Grimoire of Sacrifice”.

What it does: Give me my demon’s command ability and gives my spells to deal x bonus Shadow damage.

I’m…not sure of the point of either PvE or PvP? The only point I can think of is to give myself the Voidwalker ability for a 20% HP boost, but even then. The bonus Shadow damage doesn’t even seem to come close to replace the loss of pet damage.

Am I missing something here, or is it just bar-none the weakest talent in the Lock trees?

The point is to get rid of the pet and all the pet-stuff you have to deal with.

Which is mean. Don’t do it.

I like to sacrafice my succubus so I can cast Seduction. It makes me feel sexy :kissing_heart:

It used to be good for affic… Then it got nerfed and remains a dead talent.

Mortis is going to come after you for harming one of his precious Succubi…

You’ve been warned.

I thought of this.

But I dunno if I can one-up a succubus.

There sure are a lot of those in this game anymore. Almost like they want us all playing the same builds to make their job easier.

Some people want to play a Warlock but don’t want to deal with a pet.

Sacrifice isn’t a great talent but it lets those players still have fun with the class.

My succubus is mine and no one elses! I may sacrifice her sometimes, but I still like her.

It’s because I can’t one up a succubus that I need the spell. I’m a male nightborne and I need all the help I can get.

I kinda compare it to Lone Wolf, which is a legit great ability and matches the class fantasy.

I would love to play petless, but the benefit from Sacrifice is nowhere near the benefit of Lone Wolf…Although part of that may be due to how strong Aimed Shot is.

I prefer grimoire of sacrifice for group content on my affliction lock. This is partly after testing a while on dummies trying to keep my dps at a decent level while also reducing buttons I need to press.

By Goblin law, all Kajamite belongs to Goblins.

By Mortis law, all Succubi belong to Mortis.

And by Gakkupo law, the beautiful succubus, Annaith, is his and only his! He would not have it any other way and neither would she!

Sacrificing your void is good for tanking Zaxasj the Speaker, but that’s about it.
