Hello i just got an idea that What if we get Semi-Watered Down Path of exile Talent tree system for WoW? instead of Legendaries, Covenant Systems, azerite etc. With the expanded talent tree it will go with you next season or next expansion so atleast you feel good that it will not be gone next season/expansion.
I know there will be a “META” or "Cookie Cutter* builds for it but I think with how expanded/Big the talent tree it will be fun to mix and match and experiment in M+, raids and pvp.
and also the advantage of this system, it will come with you with next season, unlike other system that you other systems like shard will be useless next season.
I imagine it wiill be more fun to play m+, raids and pvp with theorycrafting etc.
alot of players of wow will be like “Wow cool i could play this build”
Hopefully maybe we go with this path. instead of the current.
I remember that this game should be built on “Fun” game since this is MMORPG not an E-sports game, Lol/dota/CS/valo. so balance should not be an excuse, I mean hopefully its not super broken but atleast it will be fun.
also 80% of the players or probably 90% of the players here plays for fun. even I as a mythic raider in my opinion its ok not to be super balance but atleast it should be “FUN” right now alot of people doing are just raid logging since all other activities are boring, no new things to try for your new character.
That style didn’t work out very well up to the wrath of the Lich King, because if a player wanted to try something different, they were ridiculed, and barred from many groups for having the “wrong build.”
That POE passive tree is very intimidating to look at. The more you play the game the more you understand how it works and how many “options” you have when creating your character. I just don’t see anything like that working out in a mmo, it would be too complicated. If it was a f2p game then they’d make a ton of money with respecing all the time.
yeah agreed it is intimitading. im not saying it should be exactly how POE talent tree works. but they should get some inspiration from it. I mean i rather have that system than covenant system or azerite systems
actually you’re right. That’s cool but the problem is 10.0 is probably coming 2023 much more sooner and I really think WoW is on it’s last life line so probably they should make some moves like this in 10.0. Hopefully
A majority (unsupported claim) of players just use whatever the class guides tell them is best…meaning almost everyone uses the same talents and making a bigger talent tree is a waste of time
I personally would like Blizz to remove DPS related talents all together and fill the talent tree with QoL style options that will actually give players meaningful choices
Absolutely. I would love for the talent trees to be entirely reworked, with an aim of giving them more utility or QOL options. As it stands currently, the vast majority of talents are either completely passive, irrelevant or never taken because of tuning. What’s more is that so many of them used to be baseline or part of tier/legendaries.
Taking a look at the Frost Mage talents, there’s no reason why Ice Nova couldn’t be baseline and the other two talents on that row are bleh. In WoD we had both Ice Floes and 2 blinks, and no one ever runs GI. Level 30 talent row is just a % damage increase to all spells, make that baseline and there’s no loss. Give us Ebonbolt baseline, and CR should always be baseline. Ring of Frost (and for Arc/Fire they get Supernova and Blast Wave) baseline. We had Freezing Rain and Splitting Ice as baseline in WoD, and CmS would be easy to include in our rotations. TV should be standard or removed to prevent the meta of having to keep up IV at all times, and then really it is only a “choice” between Ray and GS which are both dps losses currently but could easily be buffed.
The addition of these things, or more accurately the re-implementation of these things that were almost entirely baseline in previous expansions would go a long way to making the specs feel a lot more fun to play.
It’s impossible to run a cookie cutter build in Path of Exile because there is far farFAR too many variants that changes your build. I think that’s the beauty of the game.
That being said, I’m on board with PoE-like talent tree system. But they really need to do something about each level make your character weaker.
A form of exploration should be in order and not having systems that enforce gatekeeping. While that’s easier said than done, it’s definitely doable.
Current system is a watered down old system with the same problems. Difference is that you can reliably reset your talents, so your spec is typically optimal for whatever you’re doing at any given time. Each spec is a class on its own right now, however, so introducing talent trees (again) would mean fundamentally reworking classes (again).
agreed. blizz should just stop making other “new/try” system like azerite power, conduit, covenant, artifact power etc etc.
Imagine if they did this POE talent from legion. we will definetly have refined talent system.
and also upside of this system is it will carry over to next season/expansion. unlike the seasonal system, it kinda gets boring. you farm it 1-3 months then after 5 months iit will be irrelevant (ehem shard)
The best talent tree is a point-based system. Allow the players access to large pool of talents. Give them so many points per level and allow them to buy what talent they want. I have seen this system work in the past. Never understood why they get rid of it, for example fast running costs 10 points.
Hell just got back to the original wow talent system you get talent points at certain levels and every skill cost one point ( some skills have levels but each level is one point) I never understood why they changed that system I liked it 10x better then current and out allowed for variations in builds
Bwahhahahahahah
Lets give the players 1000’s of ways to screw up
More an above POE build is deceptive , it favors glass cannon for the campaign but the moment you hit end game - Survival 10 x over damage which makes your entire build useless.
