Are these rings nerfed in pvp enough that our pvp gear is better?
Please please tell me this is the case
Hiiiiiiii. The 75% PvP nerf should render the ring unplayable.
…But it should be playable. Heck, it should be mandatory. I mean, why bother playing the game at all if you just want to stand around in Dorn, semi-AFK, waiting for queues to pop?
They account for .5% of your dps in pvp but you lose stats. So not worth.
thank god 10char
Honestly would’ve been cool to see something new in PvP. Maybe this ring wasn’t what I’d have imagined being good for it, but would’ve been better than nothing more than likely. Doesn’t matter anyways because I can’t even start the first quests because it’s bugged.
It worked earlier…I have had mine for hours.
I need to submit a ticket then. I was ready to see something new and yet I can’t. I hope they don’t take like 2 or 3 days to respond.
Its a small zone. Not too many quests.
Horde was roaming around in a big group winning all the pvp crates.
I was happy they could get their first crates of the expansion.
What’s nerfed on it? The gem effects or the actual stats? It just received a massive ilvl buff.
It’s the gem effects…
- Siren Isle’s Cyrce’s Circlet Gems have the following reductions in PvP combat:
- Thunderlord’s Crackling Citrine – Damage reduced by 75% in PvP combat.
- Squall Sailor’s Citrine – Damage reduced by 75% in PvP combat.
- Undersea Overseer’s Citrine – Damage reduced by 75% in PvP combat.
- Windsinger’s Runed Citrine – Secondary stat enhancement reduced by 75% in PvP combat.
- Stormbringer’s Runed Citrine – Secondary stat enhancement reduced by 75% in PvP combat.
- Mariner’s Hallowed Citrine – Heal reduced by 75% in PvP combat.
- Legendary Skipper’s Citrine – Effect reduced by 50% in PvP combat.
- Seabed Leviathan’s Citrine – Stamina and damage reduced by 75% in PvP combat.
- Storm Sewer’s Citrine – Absorb reduced by 75% in PvP combat.
- Fathomdweller’s Runed Citrine – Mastery reduced by 75% in PvP combat.
- Old Salt’s Citrine – Heal reduced by 75% in PvP combat.

Gem effects. Ring has no stats except those provided by gems. Ilvl effects gem potency, but they’re still nerfed by 75%.
Yes.
Well, the stam unaffected but the gems are all mega nerfed.
The dmg proc is like 3% of total dmg done at worst, cant imagine how good it was pre nerf.
bunch of lizards
It shouldnt be mandatory. These mid exoansion “features” do nothing but throw another variable into pvp combat that is bound to be unbalanced. Some soecs benefitting more iver others… weve seen this before.
If it doesnt have an explicit “use this gemstone on the ring and make it scale to 639 in pvp combat” it shoulndt even be active at all in pvp.
The mechagon trinkets, the ring from forbidden reach and now this. It should release nigh unviable in pvp combat perios.
Thank you xirs.
It’s definitely bad for PvP but I just laugh at how the PvE’rs are upset by it too. They all claim they hate borrowed power but then quit playing if it doesn’t exist Blizzard knows their mouths say no but their eyes say yes though.
I remember how hard the, “you think you do, but you don’t” guy got roasted and how right he was XD
I think it’s meant to be an indirect nerf to pve content for the end of the season so I don’t know why anybody would be upset about it aside from maybe keystone mans if it does enough damage to soft reset the ladder.
When is PVP ever balanced?
That said, PVP is probably more balanced now than it has been in quite some time, yet we’re seeing the numbers tank. The season is stale. It’s boring. It’s unexciting. It’s uneventful. Do you really think adding a bit of spice, like this ring, would make a difference? Get people out of Dorn and into the world for 5 mins?
Honestly, people need to remember that WoW is - first and foremost - a video game, an RPG, not an E-sport.
That would have been cool, but probably more work than necessary. It should just work.
I get that people don’t like PVE items in PVP, but it’s hard to argue against the use of an item everyone can pick up with a very minimal amount of engagement. They’re practically shoving the ring into your bags the moment you get to the Siren Isles.
Would it make things harder to balance? Probably - but does it matter? Even without the ring, the game won’t be balanced. It never is. Does it also have to be boring, too? We’re deep into the season. Most people I know have already got what they wanted out of it. Now, we’re all just sitting around, twiddling our thumbs, waiting for something more engaging to come along. This ring could be a fantastic shake-up - but it isn’t because the devs know people like you would whine, “Imbalance!” As if things were balanced to begin with.
WoW is a video game. It’s supposed to be fun. A little mid/late season wackiness wouldn’t kill anybody.
It did, and it sucks for more casual PVP players who haven’t forgotten WoW is a video game. It sucks that content introduced has 0 effect on PVP, like PVP exists in its own little “Safe space.”
“Whew! It’s a good thing this ring they shove into everyone’s pockets during a 5 min quest chain doesn’t work in PVP - PVP might have gotten imbalanced!”
“Totally agree. I just want to stand around in Dorn, semi-AFK, waiting for 40 min queues into totally balanced and fair games. Let me just reroll NE real quick… for the aesthetics, obviously. I just really appreciate their lore all of a sudden, you know?”
