I get it—Fury Warrior’s burst AoE damage can feel overwhelming in specific situations, especially in large pulls during dungeons or multi-target encounters. But before swinging the nerf hammer, let’s take a closer look at the current state of Fury Warrior’s overall AoE performance
Fury Warrior’s AoE is Not Overpowered in the Current Meta
Right now, Fury Warrior’s sustained AoE damage isn’t topping the charts compared to other classes. Yes, Fury can pull off some big numbers in short bursts, but those spikes quickly taper off, leaving it behind when you look at total damage over the course of a fight. Classes like Balance Druids, Windwalker Monks, and Unholy Death Knights currently outshine Fury Warriors in overall AoE scenarios. Nerfing Fury’s sustained AoE would push it even further down the ranks, making it less viable for content like Mythic+ and high-end raids.
Focus on the Burst, Not the Sustained Damage
If the goal is to tone down Fury Warrior’s burst AoE damage to balance out its impact in dungeons or certain raid encounters, that’s understandable. But Blizzard should target those abilities that cause sudden damage spikes, not the class’s overall AoE kit.
