Plunderstorm, WoW Remix; A slap in the face!

I am tired of Blizzard wasting development time and money on cheap imitations, bizarre adaptations, and obvious reskins of its core WoW products. Instead, Blizzard should be continuing to iterate on and develop, in a way which is favorable to the customer, the product which built them an empire and keeps the lights on: Retail WoW. For years now, the creativity, the excitement, the quality, and the novelty has been slowly and steadily drying up and/or being reallocated from Retail WoW to other inferior products / cash grabs, the pinnacle of which is this newest trash; WoW Remix and Plunderstorm.
If these “ideas” were really and truly meant to be judged on their merits and they are not just a cheap way to keep people subbed, why are they both being seeded so heavily with limited time cosmetics. The company is weaponizing many things but, in this case especially, FOMO to keep you subbed and artificially inflate the participation numbers on game modes which would likely flop without it.
By this same token, Fated / Awakened is an awful and unwanted solution to the problem of content draught. This also goes for bringing back old dungeons into the current M+ rotation. No one wants recycled content, no one is paying a sub for recycled content, the whole point of a subscription model for the customer is a constant source of NEW content. How would you like it Blizzard if the customers recycled their subscription fees? I am only going to pay you 5$ in new money for my subscription this month, I am recycling the rest from the previous expansions where you recycled this month’s content from.
The only reason Fated was looked on so “favorably” in Shadowlands by those who actually stuck around to participate in it is because those players were already so starved, by Blizzard’s internal mistakes and mismanagement of resources, for something, anything, new that they were so ecstatic to receive the scraps of Fated that they forgot those scraps came from the same neglectful Blizzard who starved them in the first place.
I have a novel solution for you Blizzard:
Why don’t you hire more people who actually generate the wealth and products in your company instead of continuing to be bloated with an unnecessary, top heavy, management structure?
Why don’t you hire more developers, artists, QA, and customer service workers and produce quality, bug free, consistent, NEW content on a regular schedule like we are paying you to instead of trying to slowly suck us all dry of every penny?

it’s fine. we can just … not play it.

unfortunate for you, most people love the idea of the Remix and are looking forward to it highly, including myself.

If all your going to do is parrot all the complaints of other cry babies then go somewhere else and quit playing the game, simple as that.

Stupid posts like this fail to take into account, that this is pre-expansion period of time… When typically in the past, there would be ZERO content at all in anticipation for the next expansion.

And yet we are getting a TON of content during this period which would typically be dead-time and still cry babies are crying.

Make it make sense

They have spent a ton of dev time on literally building an entire new expansion coming up in just the next few months, have you forgotten about that?

Grow up, Go play a different game and quit crying.

It’s a way for them to dip their toes into fully resetting the game, or developing a sequel.

I’m going to throw people a bone to consider who are pro remix.
There’s nothing wrong with this idea, but the execution is lousy.
I was looking forward to them potentially breathing life to old content in the game, but this is “we’re doing that but for a separate game mode” and it’s also segregating the playerbase even more.
As a preface: I come from GW2. Everything there stays relevant regardless of the expansion and there always are reasons to go back to previous expansions.
in WoW its transmogs, mounts and maybe rep that barely keeps the zones alive for expansions before the current one. They have been BOMBED into irrelevancy and this could have given MoP a chance to be revived and see its zones populated. Excluding the insane power ups and buffs like its a mario game ofc.

Consider also: FOMO stacked ontop of FOMO. If these events are going through seasons, you have to choose your poison of doing one thing over the other. “Then don’t play it” is not the answer to people who want to do both and collect the items, but have little time to do so.

I took me about 4 afternoons after work to get lvl 40 renown on plunderstorm and it’s over and done with… There’s been PLENTY of time for me to do everything else I’ve needed to do, and guess what… Plunderstorm is still there for now… So I’m gonna have to disagree with the choose your poison part, I’ve been able to do it all so far.

There’s a flaw here I wonder: what your free time looks like in comparison to some others that allowed you to get it done over that time span.
I also debate that the scope of content of this remix might be vastly more demanding than that of Plunderstorm since its fairly linear as far as its design goes.

I played for 2-3 hours a night after work and that was it. I only farmed plunder and finished my quest everytime, Only have 2 victories. It was annoying and painstaking and I hated it but I got it done.

The OP literally reads like it’s some AI post produced by Apple. Is this the Siri AI that’ll save the APPL stock?

Im not reading all that, but I probably agree with you.

I’m glad they did. I’m having a hoot!

:owl:

All I’m getting at is something for WoW > nothing for WoW and that development being spent on a different game.

Whenever they release something, someone will be upset that it wasn’t exactly what they wanted and that’s ok.

It seems like it might be a quick method to level a couple of new alts, if one is an altoholic like me.

Did I see… “a slap in the face”?!

Do you guys have permanent whip lash from all the face slapping, or are you just being dumb?

What exactly would you prefer?

Plenty of things to do while we wait for the next expansion? Or a content drought?

Indeed, I do believe you did. Cheers

I’ll say it again for the hundreth time - you are not the only one who plays this game. There are millions of players, all with different likes and dislikes.

This is an MMO, not a single player game. There are plenty of people who LOVE plunderstorm. If you don’t like it, fine, don’t play it. No one is forcing you to.

Just like pet collecting, quests, mounts, dungeons, fishing, archaeology… all of these are optional. No one is being forced to do these activities.

It’s better to have options, something to appeal to different people. If you don’t like this, find a different game.

Also, please learn to properly space your paragraphs. It reads like an entire wall of text that hurts my brain to try and read…
