Plunderstorm Tourny winner bug exploit?

100% Agree. I realized after my first post you replied to that it was a known bug from last year (e.g. twitch clips of others in the cheater’s same guild doing it before) which makes the use of it this year even more obvious it was a willing exploit.

Also agree it looks horrible on Blizzard if they do nothing. I wish they would at least make a post explaining their reasoning to the community on this, if they don’t actually cancel the cheater’s win. It would be the right thing to do, but given they already have a track record of not saying anything for previous tournament exploits (e.g. TGP plagueborers by abusing infinite duration hunter misdirect bug), I have no faith in this company anymore that they take fair play in their prize tournaments seriously.

I don’t care if it’s NA, EU, or some other team cheating. I know many top-end guild teams have cheated to some degree over the years. Cheaters should not be rewarded period. I just want to see a fair competitive game and be proud of whoever the most skilled player was that deserved the win. Wasting hours watching this plunderstorm tournament just to see the crowned winner be some cheater that just had to afk on a tower and not have to kill a single person while letting the game mechanics (that he’s immune to because of a known bugged location) kill the other player and win for him, just made this all feel like a waste of my time. There was no cheer or pride for the winner of this tournament. Just disgust for a known cheater with no sportsmanship. Just like after the TGP exploit, I don’t plan to watch their esports again for awhile unless Blizz takes fair play more seriously.

It’s an exploit, yes you can, don’t be a cheater.

Looking at this screenshot from Gingi’s own PoV. The storm circle did get smaller and at this moment you can see the storm wall on the right side of his character (meaning he was outside storm) and never took damage. He claims he didn’t know of this beforehand (obvious lie) yet had no worry about staying in that spot after the storm circle got smaller and the wall going across his body a second prior in the video. Meeres said he should “prepare to dodge a lot of lightning up there” and yet both proceeded to never be surprised there was no lightning. Cop out lie to act like they didn’t already know this tech from Naowh (as seen in a saved twitch clip from last year). And Blizzard admins said this wasn’t an exploit.

What a joke. I guess in the next RWF, finding the right spot in a boss room to ignore all of its mechanics and one-shotting it with no effort is fair game since Blizzard says being immune to plunderstorm storm mechanics isn’t an exploit. There are no standards or integrity left with these exploit ridden esports tournaments. Cheat and exploit your way to winning prize money, no skill or sportsmanship required.

okay.
that does not change my point even slightly.
In fact, that is more telling about the disrespectful player base than anything else.
Once again, sportsmanship and integrity.
There has been a good amount of money on the line for game tournaments for decades. Yet any of them who were found to be cheaters were either taken out or took the L themself.
